I am very inspired by interiors + architecture and I've been seeing some great photographs of gorgeous architecture as decoration. I think it is such a chic look and totally something you can do yourself. As I'm sure most of you know, I have my little obsession with photographing gorgeous doors. Just recently I experimented and printed some blown up photos out, framed them and put them up as decor in a clients apartment. We loved the look so much I even did my own little one in my purple bedroom. It makes such a statement as artwork.
Apologies for the bad photo, I just took it quickly to further my idea. I love the bold pop of purple and how it peps up that little corner of my room. I had my prints printed at Ink361, which I am obsessed with. They are actually amazing quality for blown up photos. I then ordered frames from Framed & Matted, which is my new obsession in life. You can affordably frame + mat your own photos and its super easy. For any DIY gal, this is a great source. This is totally an easy weekend project for you to do and create some really chic art. Try to borrow a good camera, especially if you want to blow up your prints really big. You will need something of good quality, not just your phone. You might even want to take a road trip and travel somewhere new, like an old church or crazy cool hotel. You can do this even if you aren't a profesh photographer. In fact, I recently splurged on this camera and have been really investing more time on taking great photos, this camera basically does it for you.
These are two of my personal favorites. The first photo captures the whole vibe of travel, people walking around, etc. The second really captures the windows of a cathedral. I love the vertical sizing + how perfect it fits in that space. Great use of artwork.
