One of the fastest ways to perk up your home decor is in pillows. I love the way they really can add so much to a space. I love when I see mixed patterns, colors, and styles. I prefer mixing interesting looks, but my choice is mixing all in the same color tone to keep it looking sophisticated. We all know I love black and white so I stumbled upon this DIY collection on Burlap & Lace, I felt like I was on to something.
Decor inspiration: bookshelf style
After working in New York for so long, I've come to know all the city's greatest thrift markets and shops that have major scores. This week I've been tooling around in the snow and have yet to find the perfect accessories for the home in Austin. I found a few things that could work but nothing that I really love. When I asked the clerk about the inventory, he said they run dry in the cold wintertime. Ugh. That bothers me. So, of course, I decided to head straight to ebay to find all the things I need for the empty and sad built ins. I could always run out and get a few new things, but vintage items are way more my speed and definitely stylish. [You can see a few collections I have put together here.]
I have a small obsession with blue and white ginger jars too, they look so chic on shelves.
Not to mention, I love a well styled area of open shelving in a kitchen and using gorgeous vintage entertaining essentials, [another one of my ebay collections].
