Design ideas: Black trim, white walls...

I'm currently working on one of my favorite homes I have ever worked on, its so uniquely shaped and for a newer home it has a style that is so unique {hello. keep austin weird}! I'm having a tough time working around some poor design choices, like the color of the trim. It's currently a muddy beige color and its just wrong. I've been researching my options for color for trim instead of just splashing it with white. So I'm seeing how I feel about black trim, light walls.

It's very 'Brooklyn townhouse', which I think all of these photos are from NY. I love that vibe & they say Austin is the TX version of Brooklyn so, I'm thinking we've got to bring some of that style down here.

shopping for sofas {tufted & gray}

Shopping for an sofa can be such a bore, there are so many options that it can be difficult at times finding the perfect one for you. Its just such a statement piece that it needs to be comfortable but yet still so stylish as it takes up so much real estate. How do you know what to choose? Well, when shopping for a smaller apartment go deep in the seat and rich in the fabric. Right now, I've been eyeing a few gray tufted sofas for a client, I love how rich the look is.

When shopping, you want to feel the fabric. Is it soft? Can it be cleaned easily? Does it go with the wallcolor? All of htese are factors. Looking into these three sofas, they are almost a can't go wrong style. That's what I love about gray, it has become a neutral and can almost go with anything, even brown!
