Selecting art: portraits of a lady

I'm pretty much addicted to my Netflix right now because the weather is so cold and I like getting cozy with candles and a good tv series. Right now, I'm totally into Reign. I love any kind of period show or film, I always used to dream of being the set decorator for a period film. The costumes and sets are always so good! In order to keep things fresh in your home, I always suggest mixing the old with the new. Right now, because of my television addiction, I'm all about painted portraits. They are so dramatic and royal, and usually come in the most gorgeous golden frames. 

In my entryway I have added a few portraits I found while antiquing and added them to my mirror collage wall. I've always wanted to have a wall of mirrors, and by adding a few unique items I keep it from being to boring. My theme, of course is all things gold.

Get the look: Eclectic Glam

There is something about this adorable Scandinavian little abode that just had me at hello. The winter weather is here and its about time we break out the fur on the bed and cozy blankets. I also really love the way the tufted headboard with mirrored side panels looks in here. It takes the eclectic look up to the glamorous level. 

As you can see here, the furnishings are quite simple. This shows that you really don't need super luxurious furniture to have style in your home. I love the height of the silver candleabra. Also, horse art is always a winner.
