I am a huge believer in interior therapy. Your home dictates the way your life turns out. It's all about your home environment and how it dramatically shapes who you are. Last year I did a project with HomeGoods at a hospital in Houston. When sprucing up the patients hotel room, her favorite things were the things with motivating words on them. I had an art piece that said "all you need is love" and a pillow that said "believe in yourself". 

I love the idea of incorporating positive affirmations and encouraging sayings in your home decor. Especially when its done in a stylish and chic way. This can affect your life is SUCH a profound way. Why not collect a bunch of vintage marquee letters and spell out "U ARE AMAZING"? I think it's such a genius idea! It's good for the heart and soul. Not only for you, but for your guests too! Entertaining is easy when your guests feel encouraged and inspired, no?

It's also impactful where you work. Caroline Stanbury and her gift giving service hosts "be nice" in the office. Completely encourages good gift giving by being nice. Talk about positive branding.

After a long week in NYC, I'm finally grooving back to the swing of things. I've got so many concepts and ideas and that I am ready to share. First of all, I am a scent-a-holic. That's right. I can't do anything without a proper smell. I've got spray for my lingerie, for my sheets and towels, I keep candles and diffusers in almost every room in my house, I have a perfume addiction and I only buy beauty products that have pleasant smells. For me, smell is everything! So, how do you translate that smell to things that are pretty to look at? I use my empty candles as flower vases, the height is always right for sweet roses. Lately, I've been seeing empty Diptyque candles in more uses than just candles and flowers. You can do so much more with beautiful empty candles. Here are a few photos to inspire you for your delightful sanctuary.

HOW TO GET THE LOOK?

Put almost empty candles in the freezer for an hour or so. When you take out of freezer, the wax should pop right out. Wipe with a glass cleaner and your small vases are ready to go!

Does anybody love this as much as I do? I think my favorite idea might be either gold paperclips or the orchid. Now I've got to go pick up some more candles...Tuberose is my favorite.
