6 steps to getting grounded & feeling more in control of your life {Podcast Ep. 74}

Ever feel like you’re too up in the air, indecisive or just pulled in way too many directions? Yeah, me too. This post is all about how to get more grounded in life so you feel more in control.

With the Fall season approaching, the desire for feeling more connected & grounded is just so, so important. As a mom, each year gets increasingly more hectic and has been nothing but dodgeballs coming seemingly at the speed of light. If it isn’t one thing, it seems like there is another one that pops right up. It is a continual cycle that can test your endurance, your patience and your strength.

From what I’ve learned is that the best thing to do when it feels like life is getting a little too hectic, is to make getting grounded a top priority. I have several ways I like to do it AND in episode 74 of the Blissful Ambitious podcast, I’m breaking down 6 things I learned and practiced to help me get to that feeling of being more in control of life.

6 things you can do to feel more grounded & in control of your life:

1.Mini meditations/deep breaths.

Put your hand on your heart, take a few deep breaths ( I really like box breathing ) and ask yourself what it is that you truly need in this moment. This is an everyday, moment to moment practice for me. Whether I just need to calm myself through staring at piles of laundry or sitting down and trying to create a grocery list.

If it takes a while for you to actually slow down and get present, you may want to light a bit of palo santo and then make yourself a list of personal affirmations that you can repeat to keep you focused and reprogram your mind.

2. Declutter & organize your home.

If you ever feel overwhelmed, out of control or unclear, it is time to conquer your clutter and organize all of the clutter in your home. Why? Because your home is a reflection of what is going on inside of you and you need to energetically lighten your load. When you uplift your environment, you uplift yourself. And finally get rid of what no longer serves you. Take my workshop High Vibe Home for the exact method you can start changing your life today!

3. Write down your monthly goals and intentions.

For me, this one is a game changer. When I started doing morning pages, I really began to feel more grounded in my life. It felt like my mind wasn’t so overwhelmed with so many different open tabs and I just felt a little bit more in control.

Each month, I like to set intentions for what I want to create. If you know where you want to go, you’re more likely to actually get there. Getting your ideas/thoughts/wants out on paper helps you get your mind to focus on specific goals.

Another way you want to get your mind more calm and centered, start a habit of list making.

Here are a few lists that I like to make in my notebook that really help me find some clarity and calm:

  • things I need to do

  • grocery / home supplies list

  • books I want to read

  • places I want to go

  • birthday cards and gifts to buy

  • home projects to be completed

4. Identify where you’re stuck and change your routine.

Sometimes blocks we can’t even see can get in our way and the routines and habits we adapt to tend to keep us repeating the same things. So, in order to change things up a little bit, you can begin by just switching up your daily habits and your routine.

Take a different route to work, go to a different coffee shop, check out a new workout class. Try a new skin care routine, wear a different perfume or go shopping for some new clothes that actually fit your body. Sometimes, it may even just be that you wear a new lipstick color and that can completely shake up your comfort zone routines.

5. Surrender the current situation.

Many times when we are frustrated or feel out of control, so we work overtime trying to fix those things. We may even over think, over strategize, over analyze and then end up exhausting our mind and body. I once read a book that really helped me work through this, Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff. It really helps you understand that we don’t have control over everything and sometimes it is best for us to just accept things as they are and stop the resistance.

Whenever you are in doubt of where to go or what to do, just surrender the situation to a higher power. Then, take a cleansing ritual bath and a nap!

6. Take quick, inspired action.

Typically, after you unwind and surrender…that’s when creative inspiration strikes. The best thing to do when you have a brilliant idea…take immediate action. That’s when the universe really moves to support you! And when you take quick action in the direction of you dreams, you tend to feel a sense of focus and grounding, which will ultimately help you feel more grounded.

5 simple habits to boost your personal confidence

It’s no secret that 2020 has been a total rollercoaster. For me personally, there have been many ups and downs. But despite the uncertainty of the year, I’ve actually found this to be one of my most successful years so far. I’m not sure if its the unpredictability that threw me into a state of being that isn’t so attached or fixated on things going a certain way. I’ve really had to embrace the art of going with the flow.

When you aren’t completely attached or set on something, it allows room for the Universe to step in and create miracles. And for me, this year has been completely miraculous feeling. I’ve been more in tune with my creativity than ever before and I can’t help but notice that I have also been forced to be “detached” from the outcome which they say puts you in better alignment for manifesting the things that you want.

More importantly, I can’t help but notice that my confidence level has vastly improved as I’ve been moving more into this ‘go with the flow’ vibe.

For as long as I can remember, I have made my spiritual practice and my internal energy my TOP priority. Before I do anything else, I go to find my center in order to make sure my mind doesn’t talk me out of things that are good for me or I don’t find myself struggling with fear, anxiety, depression, etc.

From my years of studying Feng Shui I know how important energy is. The energy of ourselves and the energy of our environment. According to ancient Asian literature, Qi (aka Chi aka high vibe energy) warms, nourishes, stimulates and protects the spirit and body, organs and fluids in human beings and in nature. When you are consistent in having Chi, you are more adaptable to the things that come your way in life, you hold more power and when you feel that full of high vibe energy…you radiate CONFIDENCE. And your confidence is that unstoppable, high vibe, manifest it all kind of energy. Who wouldn’t want to always be operating from that energy, right?

I’m going to share 5 simple, daily habits that you can implement to your routine to CHANGE YOUR LIFE!


  1. Proper exercise (Yoga Asanas). It’s no secret that body movement is one of the most important ways that we can enhance our overall physical well being. Yoga improves circulation, massages the organs and assists their overall function. A strong and flexible spine enhances the blood circulation and keeps the body young and powerful. Yoga helps with not only your body but also it’s like therapy for your mental fitness. It helps you to focus on there present and cultivate your mindfulness. I personally like doing a few stretches in the morning when I get up and also in the evening just before bed. I love how my body feels after I workout, it always gives me a little boost of confidence.

  2. The correct way of breathing (Pranayama). Breath work is such a game changer. I can remember the first time I practiced the Andrew Weil 4-7-8 breath technique, it totally transformed my ability to work through stress and anxiety quickly and easily. When we constantly regulate our breath, we are able to build up an extra amount of prana (life energy) and can use these energy reserves on a daily basis, especially in our manifesting efforts. Meditation and breath work are like little cheat codes to your manifestations. (I also love to use crystals to help my manifestations).

  3. Timely rest & relaxation (Savasana). I can’t ever remember a time I regretted taking a nap. Our bodies & minds sometimes need a break from all the work we put on ourselves. I find that if I ever feel exhausted or just overwhelmed, a small nap or rest will do just the trick. The thing to remember is that it needs to be true rest, not watching tv or doing something else while laying down.

  4. Fresh & healthy diet (preferably mostly plant based). A long time ago I tried a plant based diet cleanse (detox) and it honestly gave me so much clarity and energy! I no longer felt bloated and weighed down, I felt light and vibrant. I believe that in order to feel your best, you have to eat foods that make your body feel good throughout the day. Every person is different so you have to try what works for you but paying attention to the food you put in your body and how it makes you feel can completely revolutionize your day. For me, I love coffee but I took a step back from coffee and switched it out with my Arbonne Fizz drinks. Just making this simple shift changed a lot about how I felt about my body and my energy for the day.

  5. Positive thinking (Vedanta) and Mediation (Dhyana). Meditation connects you with your soul. That connection gives you access to your intuition, your hearts true desires, your integrity and the inspiration to create a life you love! When you frequently meditate, you have a better control of your mindset, which puts you in a very powerful position to use your mind as a tool for manifesting.

When you feel calm, centered and in control of your life, you feel confidence. These are some of the ways I put my spiritual development at the top of my to do list everyday. It is such a priority to me to make sure that I walk through my days feeling powerful and confident.

Blissful Living Tip of the day: Before you do anything that is taking an action (masculine), make decisions, speak up, make requests, etc.....
Stop, take a deep breath (feminine) and ask yourself...
..am I doing this out of fear/worry or inspiration/love ?

Make a commitment to yourself to do nothing until it is purely an action out of inspiration and love. 💕
