Weekend decorating idea: Upgrade your work space

I have completely been in one of those seasons where I'm just flowing with ideas and inspiration. So much so that I almost have a revived sense of energy and excitement about my work days. I can't even get everything done that I want to. That's NOT always the case for me. There have been times where I am just not in my flow, totally uninspired and creatively stuck. I got to thinking about how and when did I notice the shift so I could remember what I did to get me feeling so inspired. 

A totally small but powerful move. I UPGRADED MY WORK SPACE.

Now, I didn't go out and re design everything, I just started upgrading all of the things that I use while I am working. I did get a beautiful new mirrored desk that I had been wanting, I bought some new lavender pens and threw away all the old ones I wasn't even using. I got a divine smelling patchouli candle, new spiral notebook (by the way Target is killing the home office supply game) and I even bought some heart shaped post it notes. Ha. 

I don't know why but putting intention behind my work space just gave me the jolt of inspiration that I needed. I started working with a new attitude and refreshed way of being. Which opened up an entire new way work working for myself. 

. . .and I can actually feel the difference. I'm loving it. I gave my Unleash Your Ista course a whole new look, we updated the curriculum and refreshed the brand. I've got so many new blog post ideas so be excited to see some new partnerships and reads. I also have a new fun project that will be music to your ears, almost literally. 

Doesn't this work space inspire you? I'm now thinking this weekend, I may get a new rug for my office, something fun, colorful and fresh. Which is so NOT my style but hey, I'm going with it. Check out some office finds I am loving. . .

Entrepreneuress 101: Spring clean for success & sanity

Whether you work at an office, at home or you are just trying to stay in control of your families day to day activities it is absolutely essential that you do a personal Spring Cleaning. Not just in your home but you want to tackle all areas of your personal life to be at your personal best. Not only do I love to clean out everything, I also love to re-decorate every Spring and usher in new vibes ( in case you missed it, check out my post for re-decorating according to your zodiac sign ). Here are some ways to re-invigorate your personal life + style this Spring: 

YOUR WORK SPACE:

This can be your desk, dining room table, vanity area, etc. If you don't have a space in your home where you write letters, pay bills or make lists, you must create a space like this for yourself immediately. Then get to organizing it. 

Clear it out. Empty out all of your drawers, pen holders, paper dish, mail holder, trash can, etc. This way you can start from scratch and take a good look at your inventory. 

Clean! Get out the windex and wipe down your desk, keyboard and clean your screens with the Iklean kits.  I even like to clean my cords, chargers and outlets. Make sure there is zero dust on anything.

Clear clutter. Toss out anything and everything you don't need or no longer use. Even if you think its something you may use later, unless you use it regularly, its best to throw it out. Things that aren't used just take up energetic space. Get rid of old pens, notepads, junk mail, magazines, catalogs, anything you don't absolutely LOVE. 

Glam shui tip: When it comes to old magazines, which I have started to throw away about every 3 months, I have a ritual. I get the magazines, go through and rip out any articles I like or images I may want to save for a vision board later. I file my articles either in my Louis Vuitton agenda or pretty file folders like these. I like to light a beautiful candle while doing this ritual to make it feel more glamorous. Right now I am obsessed with Muse Noir by JA. 

Organize the rest. Sort through everything you have left and organize strategically. Any files, notes, recipes, clippings you want to keep, store them in a stylish and organized way. 

Restock your supplies. I loooooove office supply shopping. Get some glam new pens or pencils. I love having a pretty pen cup with all matching pens. One of my favorites to have are the gold Kate Spade pens. I love the way they write and they look so glam. I like to get new post it notes, a clean notepad, paperclips, batteries for my gadgets, etc. 

Glam up your decor. Now when it comes to my glam-shui success secrets, you must follow this rule. If you want to attract abundance, you have to decorate like you already have it. It's sort of like the quote "dress for the job you want". Perhaps you need to upgrade your office chair. I had this one for a few years and LOVED it. Now I have my eyes on this beauty. Get yourself a set of glam gold scissors, a chic stapler, a Diptyque candle, a gorgeous tray to stack mail and papers. Treat yourself to some glam goodies: 

YOUR PHONE/IPAD/COMPUTER: 

Iphone: Upload and delete all pictures and videos to make your cell and tablet clean and moving faster. If your battery runs low, its because you have too much going on. Delete any apps you haven't used in a while. Give yourself a new screensaver. 

Computer: Clean out all the photos or files on your desktop that you have let pile up. Sort them into folders to keep them organized. EMPTY YOUR TRASH FOLDER. I have forgotten to do this before and a tech guy once told me that it keeps your computer running slowly if your trash is full. Clear out your cache of all your web browsing. 

Email: Take some time and dump old emails you haven't read. Unsubscribe from mailings that no longer serve you. Clean it out! It really helps with your mental well being. 

YOUR PURSE: 

Follow and repeat these steps for your everyday handbag. Clean out your handbag of everything. Wipe it clean with a safe cleaner.  Re-organize your wallet, agenda and/or coin purse. Cut up old credit cards, throw away old membership cards if you no longer use them. Be sure to only keep new accessories like lipgloss, toss the old ones. Get yourself a new wallet and bag if you feel so inclined to.
