So, there is something about the glamour and the color that just gets me so. I love a space where a designer goes all out and doesn't hold back on anything. Jamie Drake worked his color magic in the NYC designer visions show house. What I love about it is the bold colors and even bolder pieces. It's something very different, something fresh, which I have been dying for. It makes me want to paint a bunch of walls very different colors and see how they work together. I love the mix of peachy pink, greens and blues, metallics and crazy patterns. It's so very visionary.
inspiring design: muted wall colors
After the Thanksgiving holiday has now passed, I have a bit of time before Christmas to get back to work and get things rolling. I've got a bedroom makeover I am working on and I've been in need of some good color inspiration. In Texas, things are not always as glamorous as they are in say NY or LA so I've found that theres a softer mood in many spaces. High gloss walls wont really cut it right now, what I need is to add some muted tones together with some glamorous elements [like metallics] to create the perfect laid back 'Ashlina in Austin glam' vibe. I was at Lowes the other day skimming through colors and I think for this particular project I'm going with the shade Newport Grey from Valspar. It's not really grey, but will give the same soft muted feel of these romantic muted color rooms. Inspiring, no?
