How to work with white walls

I am currently en route to Italy, I first land in Naples, then head in a car to the Amalfi coast. I can't wait to see what fun things I find when I travel. I always love to bring something home. One of my favorite looks in a home is all white walls with eclectic traveled treasures throughout. Whether its artwork, statues, accents, antique pieces or textiles, I love it all. 

White can be so refreshing and clean and if its the right white, it can play the perfect backdrop to an eclectic arrangement of accessories. Here are some of my favorite white wall room looks:

Wood always looks so good with white. I typically like to stay with white lacquer or a white washed wood, something that can't get dirty too easily. I love a chic moroccan pouf in white leather too. 

Here, I can imagine the brick and wood paneling were some other color before, but white washing them just makes the texture stand out and look so gorgeous.

Decorating diary: shopping for glamorous lighting

There is nothing like having good lighting strewn throughout the home. Lighting is the jewelry of the home, it has to be statement making. I love all of the lighting in this house. My brain is currently is "lighting mix" mode and I am trying to come up with some really glamorous mixes for each room in a few new projects I am working on. 

I watched Miss USA last night and naturally I was rooting for Miss Texas. She is from a small town where I was born actually, so my whole family was rooting for her. She wore this exquisite white dress with fringe and it totally reminded me of these fringe pendants I am dying for. . .I love anything fringe. 

I am also in loooooooove with these gold geometric lamps. So fierce. Can't wait to get these walls done so they stand out + make an even bigger statement. 

My eyes are infatuated with fringe & I oh so badly want to use this fringe chandelier from Arhaus. Obsessed. It's so old Hollywood glamorous. Pair that with a pair of these gold geometric table lamps. I've also been smitten with the new bubble light collection at West Elm. How glam are the sconces?

This bubble chandelier  is so cool yet glamorous. Loving the Arteriors for One Kings Lane lighting collection. This starburst lamp is my favorite! Love the duality of this double wall sconce.
