5 inspiring ideas for decorating your vanity

With the whole Marie Kondo craze and throwing things out, I’ve been very successful in de-cluttering and organizing almost every area of my home. The most difficult area are my vanities, because of all of the 9302842034 products I use in my beauty routines.

My bathroom vanity and my personal desk vanity are my most disorganized areas. It’s so hard to consolidate all the beauty products, candles, jewelry and crystals and still make it look stylish and beautiful.

Moving forward, what I know is very important is making sure all these beautiful treasures are… organized. That’s the key to keeping a blissful home with all the things you love, organize things well. It will help to keep your calm and your sanity. So, I thought I would put together a few images to inspire you and a few things I have picked out that would work fabulously with your vanity space.

5 tips for organizing your vanity area:

01 | Incorporate trays.

I like to keep things grouped together in trays. I like my perfumes all on one tray. I like earrings in one dish, bracelets in another, displaying lip balms in another, you get the idea. I also like my candles organized together on a beautiful mirrored tray.

02 | Use multiple mirrors.

I love large, brightly lit mirrors. It helps a space look brighter and clearer. I like a back mirror and a smaller vanity for the close ups. Also, Mirrored trays are my favorite because mirrors amplify energy. Whatever is placed on top of or in front of a mirror with multiply.

So, when it comes to things that add to your feminine essence and your personal elegance, you want that energy reflected over your entire life. It’s really good Feng Shui. Plus, mirrors typically are metal and metals is an element that balances out the soft elements of fragrance (water) and all other beauty products.

3. Jewelry boxes & dishes.

Have you ever seen Lisa Vanderpump’s closet? All of her jewelry is laid out to see so that she can use all of her things, its really inspiring and glamorous. When you put things away and hide them, they get used less and their energy builds up and dulls. Instead of allowing jewelry to create mess and clutter, use jewelry organizers and boxes to create a streamlined look

04 | Bring color with faux flowers.

Ensuring that fresh flowers are on your vanity would be so nice, but if you can’t always bring them home try to go faux. I am obsessed with these faux tulips, they just make every are look more beautiful and polished.

Wherever there is a vanity, there has to be a plethora of budget friendly organizing items. It’s just a must. Curate a collection that looks beautiful and carefully arrange your items to be displayed in your organizers.

The life changing magic of Feng Shui...

This post is personal story of success with Feng Shui.

It was around the time I published my book, Blissful Living in 2016 that I knew I was going to get my Feng Shui certification to add on to my interior design work. I had been applying what I had learned in my client’s homes and lives…and it was actually working. Then my whole life changed when I started to apply the life changing magic of Feng Shui to my own life.

It began with black walls. I painted my penthouse condo walls in caviar black. Everyone pushed me against it but I went with my own desires. I trusted myself and didn’t question it. I named my condo villa noir. I decorated it to my own style. NOT to what was trendy or what was ‘in’ (which I tended to do because of keeping up with my industry).
I just did me. I followed my decorating bliss. I chose to live from a bliss vibes only mindset, which to me meant that only if I love it, will I do it. Not an opinion from another person or an expert telling me what to do. I did what I felt called to do in my home and then that trickled out to the rest of my life.

I FENG SHUI’d the SH*! out of my home. I used every lesson I had learned in my Feng Shui training and I began to see it actually work. It lit me up! That’s when I coined the phrase Glam Shui, because I would put a spin on the traditional Feng Shui rules and how I applied them to my home. I used my own intuition to intentionally set things up.

Then things began to happen in my life rapidly that I was wanting. Everything on my vision board was absolutely FLOWING into my life. All of this to say…….this stuff works. It’s not a religion or metaphysical thing. It truly is a mindset and a lifestyle.

Feng Shui worked in a way that lit every area of my light right up. My love life was probably the most dramatic change for me, as it manifested into my life the most quickly. You read more about my love story and how I feng shui’d for love here.

My finances, my friendships, my creativity and my life path began to move and thrive. I was no longer suffering from perfectionism or limiting beliefs. Things began to flow quickly once I began to intentionally create my space.

MY SECRET FENG SHUI MANIFESTING HACK

For years I’ve been toying with the idea of an online shop but never really had a true clarity for it. So, I decided to apply my Feng Shui process (I will discuss this later on in this post) in my creativity sector and career sector. One of my go-to Feng Shui moves is to light up whatever area of my life I am looking to bust through blocks with candles.

Fire is the element in Feng Shui that represents manifesting. So, when I want to manifest something, I go light a candle for it. Just like I used to do with my grandmother at Catholic mass. I say an intention and a prayer.

Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. I got the intuitive download loud and clear. I realized that I could recreate the things that have helped me to manifest what I want in life AND how to stay blissful during the ups and downs of the journey.

That’s the thing about Feng Shui, it’s not just a quick one time fix. It’s when you continually apply Feng Shui principles in your life, ideas, inspiration, action begin to flow. You don’t have to work so hard to find them.

Not every moment of life is peaches and pearls but in the struggle, we adjust, we learn and we grow. There are times we feel bleh, not blissful. But there ARE tools that can help you during those times. This is what I want to create for you. For my people.

The Feng Shui & High Vibe Manifesting tools that can help you stay in the highest vibe possible so life feels easier. When things are in a Feng Shui flow, you’ll notice that it stops being so hard to feel blissful.

The first thing I wanted to create was a ritual candle. A prayer candle, with specific intention, a specific prayer and affirmation. You see candles do more than just smell good, they spark a fire that is a spiritual signal of power! We can totally use this to our advantage. In Feng Shui, sparking fire, draws attention to our intentions.

I created a collection of Ritual Candles for the everyday. To bring more attention to the moment, slow down and live more mindfully. As you light the candle, you say the specific prayer and then go about your day.

Each time you light one, you are living in the moment, you are honoring the now. You are being mindful Even when you are busy. That’s the thing I needed to remember, especially as a new mom with very little time for me. I need things to be functional and effective for time purposes.

I have the candles on my bedside table, my vanity, my desk, my tv console. Anywhere that I regularly tend to that I can use it to my benefit. In my mind, this is how I am using them too…..

Shortly after I opened my online shop, I felt the call to add crystals. I couldn’t decide in what capacity I would see them, I just knew that because they had changed my life and been tools for my spiritual growth, I needed to make them available to my people, too.

Along with my Feng Shui practices I learned how to use crystals and stones (earths own energies) to enhance the work I was doing on my space. The power of crystals did not get lost on me. Not only are the helpful, they are extremely gorgeous and they liven up decor in a glamorous way. Crystals are EVERYWHERE these day and I am sure you can see why.

Because of that I created a line of Glam Shui sun catchers. I have used sun catchers forever. If you haven’t used one before, here is why you need to. They are faceted crystals that you hang near a window so they can pull in the natural sunlight to bring in all the colors of the rainbow and make your walls sparkle. They clear any and all negative energy flows going on in your home. They balance out the chakras in your home so to speak.

I make them with gems and stones so that each one is made with a specific intention. A particular energy that radiates from the specific crystal. The Rose Quartz one is made for manifesting love and this one below, made of turquoise and howlite is made to enhance your self confidence and serenity. I make many with different intentions. They have always worked for me and my clients swear by them. I made a few custom ones for my clients, too. Aren’t they gorgeous?

Feng Shui has absolutely transformed my life in the most incredible way. The best part is that Feng Shui never ends, its a lifestyle, a continuous way of living. You get to apply it to everything from your home, to your fashion style to your makeup and how you keep your car. It lives in everything.

For now, I want to share my HIGH VIBE HOME methodology, using 3 phases of applying Feng Shui to your life:

1) De-clutter. When you feel the call to use Feng Shui in your life, its because you are looking for a change. The fastest way to begin to make a change in the right direction is to clear out things that no longer serve you. You can begin by doing this in every area of your life. Your home, your calendar, your wallet, your dating life, everything. That energetic clearing will get things moving. You’ll get on the fast track of where you want to be, no longer stuck where you don’t.

2) Organize. You’ve got to set up systems and structures that help your life operate in a more calm and efficient way. Being overwhelmed, too busy, a scattered mess doesn’t do anybody justice. Start finding ways to create more organized methods to how you live. Perhaps its meal planning, paying bills via automatic drafting or even setting up date nights with your significant other. In order to experience more of what you want, your mind has to be from worrying about how things will get done.

3) Decorate. When systems are in place, now is the time to begin adding all the beautiful things to your life that make it feel more beautiful. In this phase we begin to look at what areas of life you want to enhance or attract new things. We use colors, shapes, layouts, style, crystals, holistic tools all to help you and your home environment get in harmony so that you can finally be free of trying so hard for something that isn’t there yet.
