Over the weekend, I was staying with a friend and I took notice of the guest room. It was so dull and lifeless (thank goodness this person doesn't really read thedecorista...eeeek). A home just isn't complete if your guest room isn't up to par and ready to actually house guests. You want to make sure there are enough blankets to stay warm or cool. You will want to have a candle, just incase and maybe a proper night light incase your guests likes to read before bed, like I do. It really doesn't take much, just a little effort in the guest bedroom goes a LONG way. Just a note, its all about the nightstand accoutrements.
Here is a little round up of simple things that will create a very relaxing and glamorous space:
Start with the color light blue. Light blue walls will enhance the feeling of relaxation and tranquility. Opt for that instead of a bold and bright color. A beautiful white headboard will always make a guest feel luxurious. Pair that with a white sheet set like this. The beautiful fretwork style pattern makes you feel like you are at a hotel. Top off the bed with a soft herringbone throw and you will have instant coziness. This dark wood nightstand gives an elegance to the space and at $179 is a total steal! Top it off with a gorgeous marble + antique brass table lamp. I also always love to use jasmine in the guest room, its a soft scent, try this candle mix jasmine + bergamont. And if you really want to go all out, faux roses always keeps a room looking fresh and pretty!
