The true nature of my soul will always be bohemian. I'm a glamour girl through and through but growing up in Austin, Texas leaves you with a little bit of bohemian inside. This week, I've been fantasizing about beach homes & my favorite homes by water and I have realized that the cool vibes of a bohemian paradise is perfect for summertime. So, I want to breakdown the look for you. . .
I think that the key to pulling off a look like this in a rental is this...THE RIGHT WHITE! Most of the time you will rent an apartment with "white walls", but really they are renters white which is a biegey, yellow white. Yuck. Slather on your own bright, crisp white and you will love your walls forever. Also, when going white, I always prefer high gloss or semi-gloss, its so much easier to keep clean. VALSPAR bright white or BENJAMIN MOORE cloud white are my faves.
To nail down a good boho look like this, you want to mix in new pieces and old pieces. I found a few affordable white tulip chairs, if you are in the NYC area. If you don't like the old ones you can also get these fab black and white ones here.
You want a sofa with clean lines and a light color but make sure its a large size adequate enough for lounging around. This one is perfection. Metallic linen pillows are my jam right now, they are great for layering. You want to layer pillows with texture, like this knit one or this cowhide one. This all can sit upon the plushness of the West Elm Kasbah rug, which I love.
I like well done art walls in a boho pad, try a mix of pieces like this butterfly in glass, man looking through glass or woman figure drawing.
I am kind of crushing on this cool wood accent table, its a FAB price too. It goes perfectly with this one.
