Feminine glamour in West Village

This week, the weather in NYC is kind of perfection. I love November weather here. It's so nice. I also love a good Manhattan home tour. I find the people in the West Village to have the most vibrantly styled townhomes. This gorgeous feminine pad just proves my point. My first Manhattan apartment was this wall color, and after seeing this space, I kind of want to go back. Interior designer Rob Stuart nailed this space with feminine elegance to kill for. I love the mixing of styles here. You have your modern glamour with accents of gold and pink, an exposed wood rustic look in the dining and very industrial chic barstools. Not something I would have thought to put together but I really like it. I also love the touch of black on the staircase, adds that sophisticated element to sort of bring it all together.

Medallion mixes...

I get emails from readers constantly about decorating advice for how to make their place look like pictures in the magazines. It's not as easy as it looks but one thing I do try to remind everyone is that it isn't just about the designs, nice furniture and fabrics and accessories. The details are everything! One detail in particular I LOVE to influence people to use is the ceiling medallion. It will enhance the look of a room instantly and it will make your light look that much more glamorous.

This is absolutely one of my favorite light fixtures from Arteriors and the light is just enhanced by the medallion paired with it. It is just a very attractive combination and I feel like people overlook this small detail. I was in a boutique the other day and this very same chandelier was used with no medallion and it just didn't sing. It should have. 

See the enhancement ceiling medallions give? I have a few combos I am thinking about trying. It would be so rich for my new dining room area too.
