I always say, "when in doubt, go black". . .it's just such a good classic color that adds elegance whenever its used in interiors or fashion for that matter. At the moment, I've got a project I am working on and it needs a little pop in the living room. I suggested to my client that we paint the back of her built ins black to create a pop. I absolutely love the way things pop against black.

The rainy weather always gets me in the mood to decorate. Especially because we are forced to stay indoors all day, we are forced to feel domestic. Most of the time, I get stir crazy and start mixing around my home style. It reminded me of the areas of the home that are so necessary to get updates when the weather the colder and we start to be indoors more.
1. Get your bed right. I turn more bohemian when it comes to decorating for the cooler temps. Boho style is all about the layering. I have a ton of pillows and this bed is a perfect example of what a warm and cozy bed looks like, I really like the look of mixed pillows. Also, get yourself a new top pillow with style. I adore this pink Hermes scarf pillow look.
2. Swag out your fireplace. Even if you don't have one, get a ton of pillar candles and place them on a table. Create the ambiance of a fireplace and style it up. Candle light always creates and warm and cozy glow. This will totally get you excited for nesting up at home.
3. Add some fur. I always love faux fur in the home for the winter months. In the Fall, I begin to layer up with furs all over. I like pillows, chairs full of fur, stools, etc. Even throwing the small little lamb rugs around the home keep your feet warm and toasty.
