Fashion Vibes: transitioning to pastels for Spring

What can I say, I love changing colors with the seasons. Usually when that sunshine starts to emerge again, I'm ready to add a dash of color to my life. Always in muted tones to ease back into bold colors for summer. I love pastels, always have always will. This Spring, I'm all about pretty pinks and purples in the pastel shades, mixed with white and nude. Here's why I am so inspired by this look...

I think an extra long relaxed, blouse like trench is so on point this Spring. I don't know that I would do baby blue trouser pants, but I would totally rock pink ones like these from J. Crew. On top of it, I would throw just a basic white tee like this Theory one she's wearing. Or, my absolute favorite tees on the planet...James Perse. They fit so well, I'm a curvier girl so I need a shirt that fits a woman. For shoes, I couldn't go all the way white, but Michael Kors makes these really pretty white wedges, with just a touch of white, so they don't get too dirty.

Now, the best part of all of this would be this fabulous Prada bag in nude. If I could have anything I wanted, I would probably go for this snakeskin, nude, gorgeous Prada bag, literally my dream bag. However, because my budget doesn't work like that I am totally feeling these pink Prada sunnies, wouldn't they be so chic for Springtime? I'm very simple when it comes to accessories, but I do like this gold chain bracelet. That would do it for me. That, and my nails will be coated all Spring with Essie St. Lucia, I never tire of lilac nails in the Spring. They are so chic.

How to curate a killer coffee table

First of all, I am obsessed with tufted ottomans as coffee tables. I just love the versatility. You can style it up or take everything down and put your legs up while watching tv. Right now I am trying to persuade a client into getting a tufted ottoman opposed to a normal coffee table. I just feel its right for the space and is going to be much more functional since they have a smaller couch. So, let me break down my ideas a bit.

I just love this beige tufted ottoman in a square shape (my preference).

Trays. The second thing you will need a tray or two. I am obsessed with the blue mirrored ottoman tray from West Elm. It's gorgeous. However, a white one will do the trick too. This one is a great size at 19" and only $49.

Cloches, they bring attention to interesting finds (above: see the coral?) You can put candles inside, cool objects of interest or anything you love. This is a stylish one with a great height for a candle. You can also find ones to fit things like a chic coral reef sculpture on your table, I personally like things with unique shapes. Like these gold urchins, I just love the unique shape, they can sit on top of books, etc. I also LOVE white ones. 

Candles are so essential for a coffee table. I usually have tall tapered candles (I have a thing for the striped ones) mixed in with shorter ones. I'm in love with this white oak candle and the white/gold holder it comes in. Such a unique shape. 

Books are always essential for a great coffee table. They also provide extra surface for remotes and cool objects. Here are a few I think are a great look + size for a coffee table. Poolside with Slim Aarons is an all time fave and on MAJOR sale here for only $45. That's a steal. The Christian Louboutin book looks so fab. Sam Haskins is definitely one of my most favorite photographers and his books are out of this world. Cowboy Kate & other stories is a MUST on my list. 

You can also take this to the bedroom. I love the look of a tufted ottoman at the end of the bed, you can style it up there too.
