Being that it is the month of love, we all are getting ourselves prepared for a beautiful Valentines Day. This weekend, tonight specifically, there is a full moon + lunar eclipse. It's a perfect time to update and upgrade your home according to Feng Shui. Right now is a great time to invest in self care and self love.
As a woman, its important that we make self care a high priority. When you invest in yourself, your confidence grows and you will have more effect in your life. Where attention goes, energy flows so this month, set your attention on making the most of your self.
I find it so important for us, especially those of us who work from home, to make sure we get up and dress our best every morning. My grandmother was such a good example of this for us. In my book, Blissful Living, I share the stories how although she was a housewife and was always in the kitchen, she always looked her absolute best. AND she had five children. When we were growing up that meant 5 children, their spouses and their kids. That's a lot of people to cook and care for when we were at her house. Somehow she pulled it off with a cheerful attitude and a fabulous look.
I was always so obsessed with watching her get ready at her beautiful vanity area. She had a gorgeous blue bathroom, her favorite color. Inside was a pretty desk, beautiful blue velvet stool and a 10 bulb hollywood style vanity mirror. We were all so in love with watching her get ready in her beautiful silk robe. I still have the robe to this day.
She was such a good example of being a busy mom and grandmother, but still making sure to take the time to care for her self and her look. She always looked beautiful and smelled so glamorous.
So this weekend, I highly encourage you to give yourself a Valentine's gift and set up your self love station. Create a space in your home where you can really enjoy getting ready and looking your best.
Add appropriate lighting, a glamorous mirror, a beautiful way to store your makeup and brushes. Perhaps some pretty dishes for jewelry, a vase of flowers, a great tray for displaying your perfumes. You can also add a comfortable chair and throw on a pretty little fur pillow.
