5 ways to prepare for your best Fall yet & a few glam decorating tips

This post is all about 5 tips for decorating your home for a fabulous Fall season.

Fall is hands down my favorite season of the year and I am thrilled it is finally here. Especially because I get to share all of these wonderful memories with my little boy Roman. Starting with back to school, Fall just gives you so much to look forward to.

I decided to create a video for my beautiful readers with my 5 favorite things to do for a blissful fall season. My absolute favorite thing to do is to create a home that feels more cozy. So, let’s Spruce up your decor for Fall.

As I mention in the video below, I am not the biggest seasonal decorating person. Maybe that will change now that I have a child but I still just like classic decor looks. To keep it simple, yet glam it up for the holidays.

When the seasons change and days get shorter, it can take a toll on our mood and zest for life. By bringing attention to the simple pleasures and warm, coziness of fall hygge we can cultivate more joy, relaxation, and enjoyment in our lives. All of which are important for feeling fulfilled and aligned with our soul’s purpose.

5 tips to get your home ready for Fall:

1.Cozy up with throws and cozy pillows.

I like to put up my lighter color pillows and bring out my darker ones. The leopard velvet pillows are my favorite for Fall. I also love textured pillows, velvet pillows, etc.

Things that have a rich and dark look are more welcoming during the season. The darker colors are grounding and welcoming which is exactly what you want when guests come over.

2. Fall scented candles.

I love the way candles bring a warm glow to a home, especially during Fall. Pumpkin, woody and musky scents are the best for the cozy season. Here are a few of my favorites:

3.Bring Home Pumpkins.

I love white pumpkins, espescially the white mini pumpkins. I have even seen some black ones. You can place them in a pretty jar, put one on your front door or just on the fireplace mantle. They also look very chic on any table vignette.

4. Using skulls as a decorating accent.

I love a good skull. I keep mine year round, but Fall is such a great time to display them! They keep a home looking festive but not over the top.

Fall is the perfect time to create a cozy, Hygge inspired home. Twinkle lights are the perfect thing to add to any area of your home and make it feel a little bit more magical. The moment you do, you’ll be inspired to stay at home, read more, journal more and enjoy your Fall domestic bliss.

5 of my favorite books for good Feng Shui & spiritual glamour at home

If you asked me what my favorite room in the home is, I would typically tell people the bedroom. It's just a lovely room to decorate. However, if you were to really dig into my heart and find what it really loves, it would be a library. It has always been my dream to have a home with a library of all my favorite books surrounding me. Nothing sounds better to me than that. You could give me a huge closet filled with all the fabulous things and I still would be more at peace in my library. 

Books for me, will never get old. I can still remember the very first time I cracked open my first textbook, the smell of those pages absolutely mesmerized me. Ever since, I crave books. I've been asked a few times what my favorite Feng Shui books are. I have to be honest, I am not the biggest fan of Feng Shui books because they are just too much. It's a much deeper dive to learn about this topic that one might think. So, I wanted to share my current favorite books that will help with Feng Shui or Glam Shui in your home. It's a great place to begin. 

1. The Inner Beauty Bible by Laurey Simmons. 

I am currently in love with this book. Full of beautiful photos and gorgeous rituals you can do at home, its the perfect start to getting your Feng Shui & chi on the right track. I am a big believer in creating a sacred space, setting up altars and practicing beautiful rituals. This book will really help to inspire you to do just that. Enjoy! (image via doodleheart)

2. Houseplants for a Healthy Home by Jon VanZile. 

This book really is SUCH a help and so much fun to read. The illustrations are pretty and this really explains the world of plants for those of us who really just don't get it. Sort of like plants for dummies. This can be very helpful when setting your home up for good Feng Shui. ( Image via @gritandglamour )

3. Move your stuff, Change your life by Karen Rauch Carter

This book is basic, to the point and very easy to read. I absolutely love this for anyone starting out with Feng Shui and wanting to begin practicing the art. 

4. The Holistic Home by Laura Benko

This book is so beautiful and is right along with my mindset and way of living. If you love pretty design and Feng Shui, this will be a fun read for you. 

5. Feng Shui Personal Paradise Cards by Terah Katheryn Collins

If you aren't much of a reader, I always suggest trying cards. It helps to keep these simple. I love this author, too. She has an array of fantastic books on Feng Shui.
