Get the look: relaxing guest room

Over the weekend, I was staying with a friend and I took notice of the guest room. It was so dull and lifeless (thank goodness this person doesn't really read thedecorista...eeeek). A home just isn't complete if your guest room isn't up to par and ready to actually house guests. You want to make sure there are enough blankets to stay warm or cool. You will want to have a candle, just incase and maybe a proper night light incase your guests likes to read before bed, like I do. It really doesn't take much, just a little effort in the guest bedroom goes a LONG way. Just a note, its all about the nightstand accoutrements.

Here is a little round up of simple things that will create a very relaxing and glamorous space:

Start with the color light blue. Light blue walls will enhance the feeling of relaxation and tranquility. Opt for that instead of a bold and bright color. A beautiful white headboard will always make a guest feel luxurious. Pair that with a white sheet set like this. The beautiful fretwork style pattern makes you feel like you are at a hotel. Top off the bed with a soft herringbone throw and you will have instant coziness. This dark wood nightstand gives an elegance to the space and at $179 is a total steal! Top it off with a gorgeous marble + antique brass table lamp. I also always love to use jasmine in the guest room, its a soft scent, try this candle mix jasmine + bergamont. And if you really want to go all out, faux roses always keeps a room looking fresh and pretty!

Here are more white beds that I recommend for a guest room:

How to curate a killer outdoor space [day + night]

I am such a sunshine kind of girl and I absolutely love entertaining outdoors. Nothing is better than a cool night breeze sipping on some wine or some pretty sunshine sitting outside, having mimosas and enjoying the weather. Springtime is such a fun time for this. It's time for us to get our outdoor spaces ready for some fiestas, no? I've pulled together two really fun looks. One for daytime and one for evening. You can pull this off however you want, but take some of my ideas and make them your own!

For a fabulous nighttime soiree look: An outdoor rug is always a way to pull a home-y vibe to your patio. Try this greek key border rug. I am obsessed with black acapulco chairs. They are comfortable, inviting and super chic looking too. Garden stools really are fantastic for indoor AND outdoor decorating. Use a white one like this to create extra drink space, candle space or a footrest.  Mirrored coffee tables (this one is chic and affordable) are the BEST for outside, they are easy to clean off and won't be too affected by the weather. Also, mirrored pieces outside reflect the beautiful moonlight + candlelight ( I suggest using these edison bulb string lights for perfect party lighting) and you will always have a hint of greenery in the reflection which makes things looks chic and glam. Try decorating the table with flameless pillar candles to set the party mood. I also really love the look of cozy bean bags outside, they are great for extra seating. This black and white beanbag is too cool. Top it off by planting some gorgeous palms in a chic black outdoor planter.

WHAT I WOULD WEAR:

For a fun and fresh daytime lounge vibe: I'm totally inspired by this space designed by Brian Patrick Flynn. I love a good lounge sectional to kick back and enjoy some wine or mimosas. You'll want to get some hanging lanterns to set the outdoor living mood. What I love about stripes is that they go perfectly with a daytime look, especially in rugs. I love this very chic striped rug. There are fantastic outdoor curtains at Target that come in almost any color. A cool outdoor storage ottoman makes for a great coffee table and can also be used for extra seating. Try these gorgeous deep purple rich looking outdoor pillows. Hurricanes are always great for outdoor spaces. You can fill them with citronella candles, to keep bugs away. A good mirrored tray works perfectly in a space like this. And  if its breezy where you live, you must have a luxe cream knit throw.
