“We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”
― Joseph Campbell
We are halfway through the year now and as women in business for ourselves, its time for us to take inventory of what we are up to in our work in the world. For me, 2017 has been a pretty marvelous year. It's the first year where I decided to allow myself to not constantly hustle & actually allow myself to take time off. Not just take time off for vacations or traveling but to truly take time off to enjoy long lunches with friends, spend quality time with family and connect with the things that I am truly passionate about in life.
I find that when I am fully immersed in the things that light me up, I get to walk right into inspired ideas and projects that end up successful. Who knew that by taking more time for our burning desires would enhance the way we do our work in the world. It's also helped me learn to let go of things with much more ease. As entrepreneurs, its important that we constantly course correct and let go of a project even if it isn't working out the way you ideally want it to.
I pressured myself to thinking I had to get another issue of ISTA Magazine out the beginning of July to celebrate the 1 year mark. I really felt I had to stay consistent because of how many people have asked for the next issue. However, my work plate has been full, I didn't have a clear direction for the issue and I didn't want to push out anything that wasn't intentionally inspired. I prayed about it and let it go, fully knowing that at the right time it would feel easy and just flow. Other opportunities came into my lap and I was so glad to have not pressured myself into overwhelm and work too hard on any one thing this Summer. For the very first Summer in a long, long time I have some balance and fully been in bliss. Now, as we come up on the end of July, I've been enjoying the inspiring content that has come to me for the next issue and the whole process is going to be fun, inspiring and lighting me up. Who doesn't want to enjoy work in that way? This is what being an empowered feminine entrepreneur is all about, trusting in your intuition, pushing forward with whats working out and letting go of what isn't currently serving you.
It's much like how we should be with our homes. . .
