Currently Crushing on: Platner chairs

In case you haven't already noticed, I am incorporating more of a modern + contemporary flair to my style. As always style evolves and tastes change but currently, I'm on this super mod kick. After my time at 51fifteen, I decided that I needed to get some Warren Platner chairs STAT. I've got my eye on a set like this  for a dining room install. 

Platner chairs aren't new or fresh on the scene by any means. Warren Platner was an architect and interior designer who used to work for Saarinen's firm back in the 60's. Then, as many talented designers who work under geniuses, he went on his own and partnered with Knoll to create these marvelous chairs along with ottomans and tables. I think it was around '66. In the super mid century modern fashion. To. Die. For. 

They really have never been out of style, I swear I see these chairs in the most amazing interiors. From super contemporary to even bohemian glam spaces and they make such a fantastic statement. You can find them everywhere now, they even make affordable knock offs. You can also get original vintage and get them redone in your own fabric.

Currently crushing on: Marianna Hewitt's LA home style

Almost exactly a year ago I was in Ravello, Italy for a friends wedding. Aside from it being one of the absolute best trips of my life, I met the most amazing and interesting people. One of them being fashion blogger of Life with Me, Marianna Hewitt. The second I followed her on instagram, I knew I loved her aesthetic. Lots of clean shots and lots of black and white. After following her for a while, I started crushing on her home vibe. 

Typically, I opt for a little more panache and luxury when it comes to my personal space but lately, I am really loving the look of clean lines and a soft palette. What I especially love is the floor to ceiling windows, there is nothing more luxe than having a beautiful view with a lot of natural light flooding through your home. It just oozes good vibes and energy. 

I know that a lot of designers typically don't like to use sectionals because of whatever reason but I love them. They are functional, comfortable, and to me work perfectly with a modern chic space. This linen Edlyn sectional is probably the most beautiful one I have seen in a long time. Right now this decker sectional from CB2 is killing the game. The depth of the seat is awesome for lounging and even falling asleep. 

There are shots of two different coffee tables and I can't decide which one I love best. I will tell you this, I am a HUGE fan of round coffee tables with sectionals, like this glam one she has. I just think it feels best with no edges so the flow is better. That could totally be just me but its how I see it. 

I've never really been a huge fan of art walls but I adore how she styled hers with this fab marble + metallic wall shelf from CB2. It adds a little something different to the look. Underneath the art wall, you see those fur + gold stools that I have been eyeing. I think they are just adorable. 

Now here is where I really am in love. . .the black. I really love the modern loft look with this staircase. It's absolutely so chic and the two black and glass shelves add to the modern vibe in the best way. I think you can get those at IKEA, I have seen a lot of people spray them gold but they look great in black here and are totally affordable. 

In any modern space, lighting is key. I love the metal arch lamps, they give some height to the whole room. In an effort to keep the loft style space light and airy, this acrylic coffee table is perfect! Especially when you are working from your laptop with a chic marble case, it just looks so chic. The blush pink pillows from West Elm are literally stunning and are the perfect pop of the femme color. I love the mongolian lamb pillows too! Top it off with a nice spotted pillow for just a hint of pattern. These fur stools are a must have, super fun and chic. What modern glam girl doesn't have a pair of crystal bookends? I've also had my eye on this copper candleholder. Now, here is the real stunner, this Neom Organic white and gold candle burns and creates a nourishing oil for your skin.
