I'm on a major sourcing spree lately, I've been finding the coolest things. I loved seeing this room in the new Domino. Sally Wheat cleverly used the Dorothy Draper dresser we all love + covet in this chic little vignette. I really love the vibe going on here. So, I'm thinking I want to get this look going in one of my new projects. Now, the original dresser can run in the thousands or if you are lucky enough, you can find one at a thrift shop. I used to see them in LA all the time. However, Pier 1 has a few left at a super reasonable price for those of you who don't want to shell out that kind of dough. Last night I was watching the Sex and the City 2 movie with a friend, Carrie + Samantha went shopping and I thought it was so funny when Carrie said "I'm cheating on fashion with furniture". Right then I felt that statement should be my lifelong motto of life. My lifelong dream is to have a huge warehouse closet full of my favorite furnishings. A chic studio/showroom.

+ Design studio. My girl Julia Buckingham, a fab blogger/designer in Chicago, did just that. In the October issue of Lonny, her chic studio/showroom was featured + I am super excited I got to catch a glimpse. How fab is the space? I think its high time I make a little trip to Chicago.

She coined her style with the cool name, Modernique. Modern/Unique. That's exactly why this shop is so good. I always love a mix thats well done. I am also really digging the purple art.
