These days I find myself having more and more conversations with women who are really adamant about getting their life organized before the close of the year. With all the chaos going on in the world, it seems that we are turning to the home and working to "get it together". It seems there is a massive shift from being a maximalist to really simplifying life. After the post I wrote, I received many emails about how time management plays a role in supporting a simply yet effective schedule.
I cannot stress the impact that was made in my life when I began to calendar EVERYTHING. I think of my calendar as a personal assistant of sorts. I schedule in even the smallest things, morning routine, gym, lunch, phone calls, shower, and I give myself enough time to finish the tasks I am up to. This really helps me get my priorities straight. I only fill up my calendar with the time I have. At the start of the week, I take a look at the things I want/need to do and I begin to set time to do it. Instead of making a to do list and letting things slip by until Friday, I schedule the time to do things and I don't procrastinate it.
Before I begin my day, I write down my 3 priorities for the day and I schedule them in. If it isn't on the calendar, it doesn't get done. This is one tool I am fully committed to because it helps me from dealing with overwhelm and stress. It also challenges me to live intentionally, be committed to my word and stay on track toward my goals. Your calendar is THE tool to support you in designing your dream life.
I think it's incredibly important to have the proper organization tools and they must be absolutely beautiful to look at, you want to adore your work supplies otherwise you may not be as eager to use them. I prefer to use the notebooks for note taking with clients, blog post ideas, etc. I have this Gold python notebook and I have been using it for years. I even use their python pen.
I also have my Louis Vuitton GM agenda that I absolutely love, these days I have been using it to keep together, files, bills and paper. For my actual daily calendar, I have fallen in love with my Law of Attraction planner in rose gold. I've used this for over a year now and I won't go back to using anything else.
