Are you manifesting from self-love, or are you manifesting from self-hate?
Most of us think we know the answer. And most of us are wrong.
You can be doing all the "right" things — the vision boards, the affirmations, the journaling — and still be creating from a place of something's wrong with me and I need to fix it. That's self-hate wearing a manifestation costume. By the end of this post, you'll know exactly how to tell the difference — and it comes down to something most manifestation content never even mentions: your body.

Ego Mind vs. God Mind
Let's start here, because this is the foundation for everything else.
When you're operating from the ego mind, you're running. Running from old trauma, running from fear, from judgment, from patterns you picked up years ago. You're overanalyzing everything instead of just living from your gut, your intuition, your spirit.
The God mind is the opposite. It's living in the now — in the I have it now. Not chasing a future version of you, not stuck replaying the past, but living from the version of you that's already healed. The version that knows: I am a powerful creator. I can have what I want.
When you get into that space, the ego stops derailing your manifestations — because you start manifesting backwards.
Manifesting Backwards
Here's an example I use a lot with clients: weight loss.
If you're chasing your best body from a place of I hate my body right now — that's manifesting from lack. You're operating from "something's wrong with me, I need to fix myself." That's the ego mind in the driver's seat.
Now flip it. What if you got into the identity that you're already whole? Already loved exactly as you are? From that place, self-love — not self-punishment — becomes the reason you choose health. That's a completely different energy, and it changes what you're even manifesting in the first place.

What This Looks Like in Real Life: Money, Relationships, and Material Things
It's easy to nod along with "ego mind vs. God mind" in theory and still not see it in your own life. So let's get specific.
Money. Ego mind money is chasing a number because you feel behind — comparing your bank account to someone else's, believing that once you hit a certain figure, you'll finally feel like you're enough. God mind money comes from the baseline belief that you're already valuable, with or without the number. The money becomes evidence of that alignment, not the source of your worth.
Relationships. Ego mind relationships come from fear of being alone — needing someone else to complete or validate you, which often looks like settling from scarcity. God mind relationships come from already feeling whole and loved. You choose a partner because you want them, not because you need them to fix how you feel about yourself.
Material things. Ego mind wants the house, the car, the wardrobe to prove something — to keep up with a standard someone else set, believing "once I have this, I'll finally be enough." God mind wants those same things, but as a natural extension of a life already being built — received with gratitude instead of gripped with attachment.
Pick one thing you're currently trying to manifest. Be honest with yourself: which voice is actually asking for it — the version of you that's afraid and behind, or the version of you that's already whole?
Why You Don't Actually Know What You Want Yet
This is something I see constantly. Clients tell me they're not clear on their business, not clear on what they want to experience, and they can't visualize any of it — because they don't even know what they're supposed to be visualizing.
It's not a strategy problem. It's that they're stuck in the ego mind: comparing their life to everyone else's, stuck in a constant state of I don't have it yet. And you cannot visualize your way into clarity from that state. Clarity comes after the shift, not before it.
Purpose Over Manifestation
When you're actually aligned with your purpose, you'll notice there's a lot less to "manifest." It becomes creation instead of chasing.
The real work is learning to tell the difference: is this desire coming from the divine, or is it coming from the ego? One feels expansive. The other feels like grasping.
Why This Actually Lives in the Body
Here's the part most manifestation content skips.
This isn't just a mindset shift — it's not something you can affirm your way out of. The ego mind isn't only a thought pattern; it's stored in your nervous system, in your body. Trauma and old patterns live somewhere physical. If you're only working at the level of your thoughts, you're working on the surface — not releasing what's actually underneath.
That's why a vision board or a journaling practice can shift your thinking but still leave you circling the same block. If it's somatic, your body will keep pulling you back to the old pattern no matter how many affirmations you say over it.
Try this next time you feel a pull toward something: pause and ask where in my body do I feel this desire — is it expansive, or is it contracted? Expansive usually means it's coming from that God-mind alignment. Contracted and anxious usually means the ego is trying to fix or escape something. That one distinction will change how you manifest.
Quick Recap: Ego Mind vs. God Mind
Ego mind manifests from lack, comparison, fear, and old trauma — desire feels like grasping or escaping a problem.
God mind manifests from wholeness, self-love, and alignment — desire feels expansive, already grateful, already enough.
Manifesting backwards means creating from the identity of being healed and worthy first, instead of chasing an outcome to prove you're worthy.
This shows up everywhere — money, relationships, material things — not just in the "big" goals.
Real, lasting change happens at the body level, not just the mindset level, because trauma and old patterns are stored somatically.
Clarity comes after you shift into the God mind, not before — which is why so many people feel stuck on "what do I even want."
FAQ: Ego Mind vs. God Mind Manifestation
What's the difference between manifesting from the ego mind and the God mind? Ego mind manifestation comes from fear, lack, comparison, and old trauma — you're trying to fix or escape something. God mind manifestation comes from a place of already feeling whole, healed, and grateful — you're creating from abundance instead of chasing it from scarcity.
How do I know if I'm manifesting from self-love or self-hate? Check the feeling underneath the desire. If it feels tight, anxious, or like proof you need to earn (self-hate), it's likely ego mind. If it feels expansive, grateful, and calm — like something you already deserve (self-love) — it's likely God mind.
Why isn't my vision board or affirmation practice working? Affirmations and vision boards work at the level of thought, but many blocks are stored in the body and nervous system, not just the mind. If the underlying pattern is somatic, repeating a new thought on top of it usually isn't enough to create a lasting shift.
What does "manifesting backwards" mean? It means starting from the identity of already being whole, worthy, and healed — and letting your desires come from that place — instead of manifesting a goal in order to become worthy once you achieve it.
Can you manifest from self-love and still want more money, a relationship, or material things? Yes. Wanting more isn't the problem — the energy underneath the want is. You can absolutely desire wealth, partnership, or beautiful things from a place of self-love and gratitude rather than lack and self-criticism.
How do I actually heal ego mind patterns instead of just thinking my way past them? By working at the body level — locating where a pattern or fear lives physically and processing it there, rather than only working with your thoughts. This is the exact methodology behind Soul Aligned, which moves through a different body center each day over 21 days.
This Is the Work We Do Inside Soul Aligned
Everything above — the body holding onto old patterns, the disconnect from your own inner guidance, the reason clarity feels so far away — is exactly what we work through inside Soul Aligned, my 21-day journey.
Each day moves through a different body center, because that's where this stuff actually lives, and that's where it actually has to be released. You get a short daily video (10–12 minutes), a deep journal prompt, and an integration practice — so it becomes part of how you live, not just something you watch once and forget.
By the end of the 21 days, women tell me they're calmer in situations that used to trigger them, they trust their own decisions instead of spiraling in overthinking, and — maybe most importantly — they're finally clear on what they actually want instead of chasing what everyone else has. That's the God mind becoming your baseline instead of something you have to talk yourself into every morning.
It's $97, and it currently includes a bonus training on collapsing timelines to help you start manifesting what you want now. Join Soul Aligned →
