Chic Boutique : Kelly Wearstler Melrose

When I first moved to Los Angeles from Austin after college, I set out with a super drive to be "the next Kelly Wearstler". The woman has always been such an inspiration to me. So I couldn't resist but to go see her chic little boutique on melrose. . .for the 4th time. To my complete surprise, it was all decor. The last time I was there it was all clothes so I was completely inspired. 

I was totally into the wall of books. I have been obsessed with shelves like this lately. Putting your collection of fabulous books on a wall, makes for some awesome wall art. 

I also loved her accessories and handpicked fragrances. Very cool things. 

Wouldn't this black and white striped table make the coolest desk? Want.

Hotel scouting: Austin Proper by Kelly Wearstler

A while back, my fabulous wallpaper installer was telling me about his other projects. One of them was by Kelly Wearstler. I was like "whaaaaat!? In Austin??!!" He wasn't kidding. I was overjoyed to hear Ms Wearstler was cooking up some design magic inside our very own city. Then I decided to hit up this situation and see what its all about. 

Kor Group, Kelly's husbands company is opening a hotel + residence building in Austin called Proper. The office and showroom is pretty amazing. A toned down version of what Kelly normally does and I just love it so much. Here is a little peek into what it would look like living at Proper. 

A few years ago, when I visited Kelly's offices, my favorite part was seeing her vibe trays. Where her schemes are brought to life. She has them displayed here on the table. Such a nice touch, I love details like this.

Pretty glamorous I feel. I can't wait to see what this hotel lobby looks like. . .
