15 lists you should make to get your life together.jpg

The benefits of making lists & 15 lists that will help organize your life

ashlina kaposta September 9, 2026

This blog post is going to share with you the benefits of list making and 15 lists that will help you get your life together.

As a mom, my life can sometimes feel like an open internet browser with 3941 open tabs running at all times. Having an organized calendar, consistent routines and structures can really help. However, there is one thing that has completely changed my life in terms of mental organization.

Making lists.

Back when I started learning about bullet journaling, I started getting in the habit of making lists. I would whip out my notebook and just start making running lists of things going on in my mind. This did two things for me; one, it helped my mind calm down and leave me to feel more grounded in the day to day. two, it gave me more time.

Over the years I have cultivated a list of the lists that make life feel more balanced and organized and I am going to share 15 of them with you. Before I do that, I want to tell you some of the health and wellbeing benefits that making lists can do for you.

The benefits of making lists:

Mindfulness and Present Moment Awareness. When making lists, you engage in a form of mindfulness. You become present in the moment as you assess your tasks and intentions. This mindfulness helps prevent the mind from wandering into future worries or past regrets, promoting a sense of calm and contentment.

  • Stress Reduction through Organization. Organizing your thoughts into lists creates a sense of order in your life. This organization minimizes the stress that can come from feeling overwhelmed by an ever-growing to-do list. Having a clear plan helps you prioritize tasks, making them feel more manageable and achievable.

  • Reduced Mental Clutter and Anxiety. The act of making lists allows you to transfer your thoughts from your mind onto paper or a digital device. This simple action helps declutter your mind, providing a sense of relief from mental chaos. By externalizing your thoughts, you free up mental space, reducing anxiety and promoting a clearer, calmer state of mind.

  • Enhanced Focus and Productivity. Lists serve as roadmaps for your day, breaking down tasks into actionable steps. This structured approach enhances your focus and productivity. As you check off items on your list, you experience a sense of accomplishment that boosts your mood and motivation to tackle the next task.

  • Avenue for Creative Expression. Lists are not limited to tasks; they can also include ideas, goals, dreams, and more. This flexibility provides an avenue for creative expression and self-discovery. By listing your aspirations and interests, you engage in a positive, self-affirming activity that fosters a sense of purpose.

Okay, now that you know the benefits of making lists, I want to help set you up with the proper tools for list making.

SUPPLIES FOR MAKING LISTS:

I suggest using a spiral notebook, something small that you don’t mind carrying around with you. I personally am obsessed with the Bando spiral notebooks, they feel so good to write in and I love that they can lay flat and sit with just one page open. As I got more into making lists, I switched over to a disc bound spiral notebook.

Here’s how to set up your lists:

Grab your notebook and make a title page for each list. You can even make a directory at the front of your notebook with a numbered list and then use post it tabs to label each page with the number associated.

15 lists that will help organize your life:

1. Monthly Intentions

This is the list I always start with, because it sets the tone for everything else. At the beginning of each month, I sit down with my notebook and get really honest about what I want the next four weeks to feel like — not just what I want to accomplish, but the energy I want to move through. I'll write down concrete intentions like "gym three times a week," "more meal planning," or "read before bed instead of scrolling," alongside the affirmations I'm currently working with to reprogram my subconscious mind. There's something powerful about naming your intentions on paper before the month even begins — it's like giving your future self a gentle nudge in the right direction. I also like to revisit last month's list before I write the new one, so I can see what stuck, what didn't, and why. This little ritual takes maybe ten minutes, but it completely shifts how deliberate the rest of my month feels.

2. Things to Buy

This is the simplest list on here, but it saves me so much mental energy. Instead of trying to remember every random thing I need — a new candle, more hangers, a birthday gift for my niece, that skincare product I ran out of — I keep one running page where it all lives. Whenever a thought pops into my head ("oh, I need more coffee filters"), it goes straight onto the list instead of floating around in my brain until I inevitably forget it. I find this especially helpful when I'm about to run errands or place an online order, because I can glance at the list and consolidate everything into one trip or one cart instead of making five separate purchases throughout the week. It also keeps me from impulse buying things I don't actually need, because I only buy what's written down.

3. Master To-Do List

This is the catch-all list, the brain dump, the place where everything that needs to get done eventually lands. Anything from "call the dentist" to "finish that client proposal" to "clean out the junk drawer" goes here first. I don't worry about prioritizing or organizing it perfectly in the moment — the goal is just to get it out of my head and onto paper so it stops taking up mental bandwidth. Once a week, usually on Sunday, I'll go through this master list and pull the most urgent or time-sensitive items onto my daily to-do list, breaking the bigger tasks into smaller, more manageable steps. Having this master list means I never have that panicked feeling of "wait, was there something I was supposed to do?" because it's always written down somewhere I can check.

4. Spending List

I like to keep a running list of what I spend during the month so I can stay aware of my habits without needing a complicated budgeting app. Every time I make a purchase — whether it's groceries, a coffee run, or an online order — I jot it down with a quick note of the amount and category. This isn't about restriction or guilt; it's about awareness. When you can actually see your spending laid out in front of you, patterns start to emerge that you'd never notice otherwise, like realizing you've spent more on takeout this month than you thought, or that a subscription you forgot about is still quietly charging you. At the end of the month, I'll glance back through the list and use it to inform how I want to approach spending the following month. It's a simple habit, but it keeps money mindful instead of mindless.

5. Recipe List

This list is where I keep all the recipes I want to try or make again, whether I spotted them on Pinterest, in a cookbook, or on a friend's Instagram story. Meal planning used to stress me out because I'd stand in front of the fridge every night with zero inspiration, but keeping a running recipe list has completely solved that. When it's time to plan the week's meals, I just flip to this page instead of scrambling to think of something new. I'll jot down the dish name, where I found it, and sometimes a quick note about any modifications I want to make. It's also a lovely place to record family favorites and recipes passed down from relatives, so they don't get lost. Over time, this list becomes this really sweet, ever-growing collection of meals that represent different seasons and moments in your life.

6. Things to Clean Out / Declutter

Decluttering can feel completely overwhelming if you try to think about your whole house at once, so I break it down room by room, drawer by drawer, and put it all on this list. The pantry, the linen closet, under the bathroom sink, the garage, my closet — every area that needs attention gets its own line so I can check it off as I go. What I love about this list is that it turns a vague, daunting idea ("I need to declutter") into a series of small, doable tasks that don't require an entire weekend to complete. Some weeks I'll tackle one drawer; other weeks I have more time and energy for a bigger project. Either way, having it written down means I'm chipping away at it consistently instead of only doing a massive purge once a year when things get completely out of control.

7. Inventory List

This is my household supplies list — toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, dish soap, trash bags, and all the little things that quietly run out without warning. I keep track of what we have and what's getting low so I never end up in that frustrating moment of realizing we're completely out of something essential at the worst possible time. This list pairs really well with my "things to buy" list, because once something hits low inventory, I move it over so it gets picked up on the next shopping trip. It sounds like a small, unglamorous list, but keeping a household running smoothly really comes down to these behind-the-scenes details, and having them written out takes so much of the guesswork and last-minute scrambling out of managing a home.

8. Appointments to Make List

Any and all appointments I need to schedule go on this list — the dentist, the eye doctor, a haircut, the vet, a home repair consultation, you name it. I like to think of this as a brain dump specifically for the things that require a phone call or an online booking, because those tasks tend to get pushed aside the longest since they require an extra step beyond just "doing" them. Once something is on this list, I can set aside time — usually once a week — to sit down and knock out several calls or bookings at once instead of letting them linger for months. This has been a game changer for staying on top of preventative care and home maintenance, the kind of things that are easy to forget about until they become urgent.

9. Fitness Plan

This list is where I map out my monthly goals around health and wellness — not a rigid, punishing regimen, but a gentle plan that keeps me accountable to feeling good in my body. I'll note things like how many days a week I want to move my body, what kind of workouts I want to prioritize, any classes I want to try, or wellness goals like drinking more water or stretching before bed. Writing this out at the start of the month gives me something concrete to check in with, rather than vague intentions that dissolve the moment life gets busy. I also use this space to track how I'm feeling — energy levels, sleep quality, moods — so I can notice patterns and adjust as needed. It keeps fitness feeling like self-care instead of a chore.

10. Emails / Cards / Notes to Send

This list always helps me remember birthdays coming up in the month, thank-you notes I've been meaning to write, or just checking in with long-distance friends and family I don't want to lose touch with. In the busyness of everyday life, it's so easy for these small but meaningful gestures to slip through the cracks, even when we genuinely care about the people we're thinking of. Having a dedicated list means I actually follow through, because I'm not relying on remembering it at the exact right moment. I'll jot down who I want to reach out to and sometimes a quick note about what I want to say or include, whether it's a card in the mail or a simple text checking in. It's a small habit that keeps relationships nurtured and makes people feel remembered.

11. Errands to Run

Similar to the shopping list, but this one is specifically for the tasks that require me to actually leave the house — dropping off dry cleaning, returning a package, picking up a prescription, taking something to be repaired. I find that grouping all my errands onto one list lets me plan more efficient trips instead of making separate outings for each individual task, which saves both time and gas. Before I head out for the day, I'll glance at this list and map out the most logical route to hit everything in one go. It also means nothing gets forgotten or left undone for weeks at a time, because it's sitting right there on the page, staring back at me until it's crossed off.

12. Bills to Pay

Keeping a running list of bills — due dates, amounts, and whether they've been paid — has saved me from so many late fees and that sinking feeling of forgetting something important. I'll list out everything from the mortgage or rent to utilities, subscriptions, and any recurring payments, along with when each one is due. This isn't meant to replace a full budgeting system, but it acts as a quick-glance safety net so nothing slips through unnoticed, especially during busier months when it's easier to lose track of dates. I also use this list to periodically review subscriptions and recurring charges, which is a great way to catch things you're paying for but no longer use or need. There's real peace of mind in knowing exactly where your money is going and that everything is accounted for.

13. Books to Read / Shows to Watch

This is one of the more fun lists, honestly, and I think it's important to have at least one list that's purely for pleasure. I keep a running page of book recommendations I've heard about from friends, podcasts, or other readers, along with shows and movies people have mentioned that I want to check out. Without writing these down, I inevitably forget them the moment someone brings them up, and then months later I'm scrambling to remember that book title someone mentioned at dinner. Now, whenever I'm in the mood for a new read or looking for something to watch, I have a whole curated list ready to go instead of endlessly scrolling through options feeling paralyzed by choice. It also makes for a lovely record over time of what's been capturing your interest.

14. Restaurants to Try / Places to Check Out

This list is a lifesaver anytime we need to decide where to go for dinner, especially when you're trying to break out of the same rotation of go-to spots. I keep track of restaurants friends have recommended, places I've seen online that caught my eye, or new spots that have opened up nearby that I want to check out. It's also incredibly useful for date nights or when we're traveling somewhere new and want a few solid options lined up ahead of time instead of scrambling to search once we're already there and hungry. I'll jot down a quick note about what type of cuisine it is or why it was recommended, so when decision time comes, I can quickly scan the list and pick something that fits the mood instead of the classic "I don't know, where do you want to go?" back and forth.

15. Things to Manifest

This might be my favorite list of all. I keep a running page of anything and everything I want to manifest into my life — big dreams, small hopes, specific goals, feelings I want to experience more of. It really helps to write these things down and act as if you've just placed an order with the universe, trusting that what's meant for you is already on its way. There's something almost ceremonial about putting pen to paper and naming your desires so specifically; it makes them feel real and possible in a way that just thinking about them never quite does. I revisit this list often, adding to it as new dreams surface and crossing things off as they come to fruition, which happens more often than you'd expect once you start paying attention. This list is less about productivity and more about staying connected to hope, possibility, and the life you're actively creating.

Listen to this episode of the Blissfully Ambitious podcast where I break down each list more specifically for you. Hope you enjoy.

9 Feng Shui Secrets to Manifest LOVE & ATTRACT BETTER RELATIONSHIPS (2026 Guide)

ashlina kaposta September 9, 2026

This post is all about how to decorate your home for manifesting love and romance using Feng Shui.

Are you ready to invite more love and romance into your life? Harnessing the principles of Feng Shui can help you create a harmonious environment that supports the manifestation of your deepest desires. From arranging your space intentionally to cultivating a mindset of openness and receptivity, here are nine Feng Shui secrets to help you attract love and romance into your life — whether you're single and calling in "the one," or already partnered and ready to deepen your connection.

WATCH THE VIDEO BREAKDOWN HERE:

Why Feng Shui Works for Love & Relationships

Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of arranging your environment to support the flow of chi — life force energy. When it comes to love, the idea is simple: your home is a mirror of your inner world. A bedroom that's cluttered, unbalanced, or full of "single energy" reflects and reinforces a closed-off, chaotic love life. A bedroom that's intentional, balanced, and welcoming reflects — and helps call in — a relationship that feels the same way.

You don't need to overhaul your entire home to feel the shift. In fact, I always tell my clients to start with the bedroom. It's the most intimate, personal space in your home, which makes it the most powerful place to set clear, focused intention for love.

Before we get into the nine secrets, let's cover the two foundational steps that make everything else work.

RELATED READING: Bedroom Feng Shui Tips and Tricks

Step One: Locate the Love & Marriage Corner of Your Bedroom

Feng Shui uses a map called the bagua to divide any space into nine energy zones — career, health, family, wealth, and so on. For love, you're looking for the Relationship (or "Love & Marriage") corner.

Here's the simplest way to find it: stand in the doorway of your bedroom, facing into the room. The far right corner of the room — diagonally across from the door — is your love and marriage corner. That's the zone you'll want to activate with the tips below.

It's really all about intention here. Where attention goes, energy flows. So have fun with this — this corner should feel like the most romantic, cared-for spot in your entire home.

A quick note if your bedroom has an irregular shape, an attached bathroom, or a closet eating into that corner: don't stress about getting it architecturally perfect. Feng Shui is flexible. If your actual love corner is occupied by a closet door, "activate" the nearest wall or surface in that general zone instead — a shelf, a dresser top, or even just a small table works. The goal is consistent, visible intention in that area of the room, not textbook precision.

Feng Shui for Love: Singles vs. Couples

One question I get constantly is whether these tips are only for people who are single and actively manifesting a partner. They're not. Feng Shui for love works a little differently depending on where you're starting from, so it helps to know which version applies to you:

  • If you're single and want to attract a partner: your focus should be on making space — literally and energetically. That means clearing out anything that reinforces "solo" living (see Secret #7 below), leaving physical room in drawers and closets, and using your vision board to get crystal clear on the qualities and feeling you're calling in, not just a checklist of physical traits.

  • If you're partnered and want to deepen the relationship: your focus shifts toward balance and maintenance. That means making sure the energy on both sides of the bed is equal (Secret #6), keeping the romance elements — candles, pairs, fresh flowers — refreshed rather than "set and forget," and using the space to actively nurture the relationship you already have rather than just calling in a new one.

  • If you're going through a breakup or divorce: Feng Shui can still help, but the order of operations matters. Clear out mementos and reminders of the old relationship first, let the space sit "neutral" for a little while, and then layer in the love-attracting elements once the old energy has genuinely cleared.

Keep your own situation in mind as you read through the nine secrets below — the principles are the same, but where you place your emphasis will look different.

Step Two: Create a Love Vision Board

I swear by vision board parties for manifesting any specific goal, and love is no exception. Gather a few frames, some magazine cutouts or printed images, and get intentional about what you actually want in a partner and a relationship — not just what you don't want.

Once it's finished, frame it and place it directly in your love corner. This does double duty: it's a Feng Shui "treasure map" and a piece of décor that reminds you daily of the love you're calling in.

9 Feng Shui Secrets to Manifest and Attract More Love to Your Home:

Feng Shui is all about energy flow. A well-aligned bedroom nurtures peace, intimacy, and well-being — and every detail matters, from your bed's position to how decluttered your closet is. Here are the nine changes that make the biggest difference.

What you need to know: Feng Shui focuses on energy flow. A well-aligned bedroom layout nurtures peace and well-being. Each element matters, from the bed’s position to the decluttering of space, every detail contributes to the bedroom’s harmonious energy.

1. Position the Bed in the Command Position

Your bedroom sets the stage for romance, so it's essential to create a space that feels balanced and secure. Start by placing your bed in the "command position" — meaning you can see the door from bed without being directly in line with it.

This placement does more than offer a sense of safety; it harnesses and directs beneficial chi toward you while you rest. Pair it with soft, luxurious bedding and elements of symmetry to symbolize partnership — think two matching pillows rather than one oversized one, or bedding sets designed for two.

Hot tip: Make sure you're sleeping on the feminine (yin) side of the bed — here's how to tell which side is which.

What if you can't move your bed into the command position? Not every bedroom layout allows it — sometimes the only wall that fits a bed puts you directly in line with the door, or facing away from it entirely. If that's your situation, a well-placed mirror positioned so you can see the door's reflection from bed can act as a workaround. Just avoid placing a mirror where it directly faces the foot of the bed, which is considered disruptive to restful sleep in Feng Shui.

Headboards matter here too. A solid, sturdy headboard — ideally attached to the wall rather than floating — is considered supportive in Feng Shui, symbolizing stability in the relationship. Avoid headboards made of slats or bars that you can see through, as they're thought to create a sense of instability.

Hot tip: Also make sure that you sleep on the feminine side of the bed.

2. Bring in some loving colors and symbols.

quiet joy at home

Pink and red have always been symbolic of love, compassion, and romance. I like to keep fresh pink roses in the love corner at all times — fresh flowers instantly enhance the energy of a space, reduce stress and anxiety, and encourage compassionate feelings. Roses and peonies in particular carry the energy of love and romance.

If fresh flowers aren't realistic year-round, a small rotating vase or even a high-quality faux arrangement in the right color palette still sends the signal.

Don't overlook scent, either. Smell is one of the most direct paths to emotion, and certain scents are traditionally associated with love and sensuality — rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, and sandalwood among them. A candle or diffuser with one of these scents in your love corner does double duty: it activates the fire element (see below) and creates an emotional association with warmth and romance every time you walk into the room.

3. Balance the five elements.

image via home sense

Feng Shui emphasizes balancing the five elements — wood, fire, earth, metal, and water — throughout your space to create harmony and equilibrium. Bring these in thoughtfully:

  • Fire — candles, warm lighting, anything red or orange

  • Earth — potted plants, terracotta, ceramics, earthy tones

  • Water — mirrors (placed thoughtfully, never facing the bed), flowing fabrics

  • Wood — real wood furniture, greenery

  • Metal — brass or gold accents, round metal frames

You don't need all five represented equally everywhere — just make sure no single element is dominating a room meant for warmth and connection.

A simple way to audit your room: walk around and mentally tag each object with an element. If your bedroom is entirely metal-framed furniture, glass, and cool grey tones, you're likely heavy on metal and water and light on the warmer fire and earth energy that romance thrives on. The fix doesn't have to be a full redesign — sometimes it's as small as swapping a steel-framed mirror for a wood one, or adding a warm throw blanket in a rust or terracotta tone.

4. Hang only artwork that reflects partnership

Artowrk with a pair of peacocks via pinterest

Love should be reflected in your bedroom's artwork. Take any photos of you alone — or you with a child or other family members — and move them to another room. In their place, hang art or photos of couples or pairs to attract that same energy.

Good Feng Shui love artwork includes:

  • Pairs of birds, swans, or doves

  • Flowers or blooming imagery

  • Romantic scenes or artwork depicting couples

5. Decorate in pairs.

Pair of candlesticks

If you look around your home and see mostly single items, there's a good chance your relationship energy is off. Start decorating in twos: a pair of candles in the love corner, matching chairs, two soft throw pillows instead of one oversized one. Artwork that shows couples or pairs reinforces this — you want everything in this zone to symbolize partnership, not "single" or draining energy.

This principle extends beyond the love corner, too. Walk through your whole bedroom and note anywhere you see a lone chair, a single vase, or one decorative object sitting by itself with no counterpart. It doesn't mean every single item in your home needs a twin — that would be exhausting — but within the bedroom specifically, pairs send a much stronger signal to both your subconscious and, symbolically, to the universe.

6. Keep Both Nightstands Balanced

Bedside style is everything. You want equal energy on either side of the bed — matching (or at least evenly weighted) nightstands, lamps, and artwork keep the energy balanced between both partners.

If you're single and looking to attract a partner, leave one drawer of the empty-side nightstand intentionally clear — it's a small but powerful way to make room, energetically, for someone new.

Even when your nightstands aren't a matching set, do your best to make them feel even — same general height, same amount of "stuff" on each — so one side isn't quietly outshining the other. And keep both sides clean and organized. For more on this, check out 19 romantic nightstand styling ideas with Feng Shui tips.

7. Make room for your mate.

holistic home

As women, we tend to accumulate more — and dominate the closet, drawers, and surfaces. It's important to keep your side clean and clutter-free. If you're trying to attract a partner, leave some literal room in your closet and drawers for them. It's not about expecting someone to move in tomorrow — it's about the intention behind the space.

Declutter your bedroom of laundry piles, mementos from past relationships, and any knick-knacks that don't support a loving vibe. Even hidden clutter carries energy — check under the bed and inside closets too. In Feng Shui, nothing is really hidden: if you wouldn't display it, don't keep it tucked away either. The energy reads the same either way.

8. Make a treasure map for love aka a love vision board.

I once read the book, The Soul Mate Secret by Arielle Ford and the author talks about making ‘treasure maps’ as a way to call in a specific love. This part is all about the law of attraction. You want to create a vision board, a painting, a visual representation of the love that you desire to place in your love and marriage corner. This is why I had my girls frame their love maps. To set intention and have glam decoration for their love corner. This way, you can look at this everyday and be reminded of the love that you truly desire.

9. Use Crystals to amplify the energy

Crystals are powerful tools for amplifying energy and intention, which makes them ideal for manifesting love. Place stones associated with love and heart-healing — rose quartz, rhodochrosite, or pink tourmaline — in the relationship area of your home or bedroom.

These crystals are believed to help open the heart chakra, attract love, and release emotional blockages that may be standing between you and real connection.

A few ways to actually use them, beyond just setting a stone on a shelf: place a piece of rose quartz on each nightstand (this also reinforces the "pairs" principle from Secret #5), keep a small stone in your pocket or bra when you're heading into a first date, or hold one during meditation while visualizing the relationship you want. Cleanse your crystals every few weeks — running water, moonlight, or sound cleansing all work — since they're believed to absorb and hold energy over time.

In my book, Blissful Living, I tell stories of how I have helped several women create the love and relationships they want by setting up their home for love! I promise it works. When I help enhance the love corner for a client, they have been able to create the love they desire.

If you are in a relationship, bring home flowers for your loved one. Light candles, play music, make being a home special. You can do this if you are single, too and don't forget to make your love vision board. Intentionally creating a home of harmony is the best thing you can do for everyone, including yourself.

A Guided Ritual System for Attracting Love

What if attracting love wasn’t about trying harder — but about becoming energetically ready to receive it?

Soulmate Attraction Rituals is a guided ritual system designed to help you prepare your heart, your energy, and your environment for a healthy and meaningful relationship.

After years of helping clients use energy alignment and intentional rituals to transform their love lives, I created this step-by-step system to help you move from hoping for love to becoming aligned with it.

This program helps you clear emotional blocks, strengthen your sense of worth, and create the energetic space for real love to enter your life.

Love flows most easily when your inner world and outer world are aligned — and this course guides you through both.

This is not just about finding a partner.

This is about becoming ready for the love you truly deserve.

This program combines ancient feng shui wisdom with modern love rituals to help you align your energy and environment so you can become naturally magnetic to love.

This Program Is Perfect For You If You:

• Feel stuck or blocked in love
• Want to attract a soulmate relationship
• Want to open your heart again
• Want to break old patterns
• Want to feel more confident in love
• Want to prepare emotionally for a healthy relationship
• Want practical rituals you can actually do

Why Rituals Work

Real change happens through small, intentional actions.

Rituals help you move beyond wishing for love and into living in alignment with it.

When your energy, your environment, and your intentions are aligned, love flows more naturally into your life.

These rituals are simple, calming, and deeply transformational.

What Makes This Different

Most manifestation advice focuses on positive thinking.

This program goes deeper.

You will learn how to:

• Align your environment
• Align your emotions
• Align your daily habits

So you can become naturally magnetic to love.

What You'll Receive Immediately

After purchase you'll receive access to:

Bonus Tips: Small Touches That Make a Big Difference

Beyond the core nine secrets, a few smaller adjustments can round out your love corner and keep the energy feeling fresh:

  • Play music that feels romantic, even when you're home alone. Sound carries energy through a space in the same way scent and color do.

  • Keep the lighting soft and warm in the evening. Harsh overhead lighting is more functional than romantic — a lamp with a warm bulb, or candles, shifts the whole mood of the room.

  • Refresh your love corner seasonally. Swap out flowers, update your vision board, and dust off your crystals every few months so the space doesn't go stagnant.

  • Avoid storing work materials, laundry, or exercise equipment in the bedroom. Every one of these introduces "task" energy into a room that should feel restful and romantic.

  • Open a window regularly, even in winter, for a few minutes. Stale, stagnant air is considered stagnant chi — a little fresh air resets the whole room.

Common Mistakes That Block Love Energy

Even well-intentioned Feng Shui efforts can backfire if a few key things are overlooked:

  • Storing single-person or breakup memorabilia in the bedroom. Boxes of an ex's things, or even a single framed photo from a past relationship, keep old energy circulating.

  • A cluttered "junk" nightstand. If one side of the bed is buried in books, chargers, and tissues, it's dominating the energetic balance of the room.

  • A bed pushed into a corner or under a window. This weakens the command position and can leave you feeling unsupported, even subconsciously.

  • Mismatched, single-focused décor. A room full of solo chairs, single lamps, and one throw pillow reinforces "one" energy rather than "two."

  • Skipping the intention-setting step. Feng Shui isn't just furniture placement — it works best paired with genuine clarity about what you want.

Bringing It All Together

In my book, Blissful Living, I share stories of how I've helped women create the love and relationships they wanted simply by setting up their homes for love — and I promise, it works. Every time I help a client activate her love corner, she reports feeling a shift, and often, meeting someone new not long after.

If you're already in a relationship, use these same principles to deepen it: bring home flowers for your partner, light candles, play music, and make "home" feel special. If you're single, do it for yourself first — and don't skip the vision board. Intentionally creating a home filled with harmony is one of the best things you can do, whether or not you're currently coupled up.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Feng Shui love corner, and how do I find it? The love (or "Relationship") corner is one of nine zones in the Feng Shui bagua map. To find it in your bedroom, stand in the doorway facing in — the far right corner of the room is your love and marriage corner.

Do I need to Feng Shui my whole house to attract love, or just my bedroom? Just your bedroom is enough to start. It's the most personal, intimate space in your home, which makes it the most effective place to set focused intention. You can expand to the rest of the home later if you want to go deeper.

What colors attract love in Feng Shui? Pink and red are the classic love and romance colors in Feng Shui, symbolizing compassion, passion, and connection. Soft pinks work well for a subtler touch, while red accents (candles, artwork, a throw pillow) bring in bolder romantic energy.

What crystals are best for attracting love? Rose quartz is the most commonly used love crystal, associated with opening the heart chakra. Rhodochrosite and pink tourmaline are also excellent choices for love, emotional healing, and releasing old relationship blockages.

Can Feng Shui help attract a specific person, or just love in general? Traditional Feng Shui focuses on creating the right energetic conditions for love to flourish, generally paired with clear intention-setting (like a vision board) about the qualities and connection you want. It's less about targeting one specific individual and more about becoming a match for the relationship you're describing.

I'm already in a relationship — will these tips still help? Yes. These same principles help maintain and deepen an existing relationship, not just attract a new one. Balancing the bedroom, decorating in pairs, and keeping the space clutter-free all support ongoing intimacy and connection.

What should I remove from my bedroom if I'm trying to attract love? Remove solo photos of yourself, mementos or gifts from past relationships, and anything that reinforces "single" energy — think one oversized pillow instead of a balanced pair, or a nightstand that's empty on one side and cluttered on the other.

How long does it take to see results from Feng Shui changes? This varies widely from person to person, and Feng Shui works best as one part of a broader practice that includes real-world dating effort and inner mindset work — not a replacement for either. Many people report feeling a shift in how their space feels almost immediately, even before any external changes show up.

What if my bedroom is small or I share it with roommates? The principles scale down easily. Even a single shelf, a small tray on a dresser, or one corner of a studio apartment can serve as your activated love zone — you don't need a large, dedicated space for this to work. If you share a room, focus on your own side and personal surfaces rather than trying to Feng Shui the entire shared space.

Can I do Feng Shui for love in a room that isn't my bedroom, like a living room? Yes, especially if you don't have full control over your bedroom (shared housing, a dorm, etc.). The relationship corner exists in every room using the same bagua logic — stand at the main entrance facing in, and the far right corner is your activation zone.

Is it bad Feng Shui to have a photo of my family or kids in the bedroom? Family photos aren't inherently bad, but many Feng Shui practitioners recommend keeping the bedroom focused specifically on the romantic relationship (or on calling one in) and moving family photos to a living room, hallway, or office instead, where "family energy" is more appropriate.
