My street style + my weekend DIY makeover

What I have been loving this weekend...
I won't take off my new white blazer from UrbanOutiftters.
The huge shoulders + fitted back had me at Hello!
It goes with every single outfit and works for every single occassion, church, shopping, brunches, dinners, etc. It's perfection.

and...
I took a old little stool, repainted it glossy white and threw on some blue + white
Chiang Mai fabric.
Um, total swoon, it's my new favorite little piece! I think I am in love.

Super successful 'white' weekend I'd say!
also...
I find this bedroom to be very cute.
I am loving the pink suzani look right now, I searched for one all weekend
Oh and these green curtains, love!

I hope all of you beautiful friends of mine are having a fabulous weekend!

the Art of Living...cleverly displaying your jewels

The minute I saw this photo, I feel instantly in love.

I took a quick notice at how the lovely jewels are displayed.
I am always looking for creative ways to hang my necklaces so they are on display + chic.
So I toiled around the blog-o-sphere for a while and checked out how other decorista + fashionista bloggers hang their necklaces.
Some fabulous ideas here ladies, take notes!

my furniture revamp weekend {DIY goodness}

So, I haven't actually finished my red painted piece of furniture (its still in the works)
However, I do want to share with you what else I worked on this weekend.
I found this super amazing credenza on my street a few weeks ago.
I knew instantly that it would be a perfect piece for my bedroom and with a little white glossy paint
it became perfection!
I am so in love with it. It stores all of my handbags and other items that need to be stowed away.
In other blissful news,
my little sophie is just the cutest pup ever.
So, I made a little painting of her silhouette for my art wall in my bedroom.
It's almost finished so I will post pics soon.

Hope you guys all had a wonderful weekend.
Did you do any DIY makeovers???? I wanna see!
(sooo my favorite thing about blogging...seeing what other people can do)
happy  monday!

Decorista Trend Spotting: painted red furniture

This weekend I have been up to lots and lots of projects.
Repainting furniture has gotten the best of me, I'm hooked.
So, lately I have been noticing bits of red catching my eye.
I know we all took notice of this gorgeous apartment in Lonny Mag.
The red console dresser in her hallway did not go unnoticed by moi. I fell instantly in love with the glossy redness of it. I love the drawer with tons of jewels packed in. Ooh la la.
Makes me want to repaint something red, STAT!

Decorista Trend Spotting: Bubble Chandelier + DIY

This gorgeous bathroom was featured on KDID during her trip to the
San Francisco Decorator showcase (so wish i could have been there)
and with my recent obsession/fascination with lighting...i thought i'd go ahead and share.
Isn't she lovely?
I think it all started at the Gramercy Hotel lobby in NYC.
This is why I LOVE hotel design, whatever the trend they make it perfection.
Want to learn how to make your very own?
Check out my sweet friend Alison and her DIY tutorial...her creation blew me away!

holy bathroom cabinet makeover!

While the boyfriend was away...this decorista sure did play!
If you have seen this months issue of InStyle...
then you must have seen the Pretty Project idea
to recover your bathroom cabinet with pretty paper.
(sorry for the bad photo, i have the worst camera)
I LOVED this idea. So I took some pretty + fun girlie paper...
and did this...
It goes with my bathroom perfectly and it makes getting ready in the morning a little bit more fun!

The Art of Living...by the sea

No time or budget for flowers? No problem...
If you have access to the beach, why not make use of it for your home?
Instead of spending your hard earned money on flowers, save it and
grab some seashells, starfish, sand dollars or greens for the beach.
I have tons of little collections around my home, they are some of my best travel keepsakes.
I love the memories they conjure up when I look at them around the house.
I just love these looks.

You could even take a photo of your findings and frame it...instant art on the cheap!

holy weekend makeover!

ok...so my apartment is 'under construction' hence, not the best photos.
(i want you guys to see it finished)
I do however, want to share with you one of my recent DIY projects.

I currently live with my male cousin and we have completely opposite taste,
so we are going for a masculine chic look.
A friend of ours gave us these candle holder/panel thingys as a housewarming gift.
(yuck!)
but my cousin loves them...so they are here to stay.
I thought...'hmm, why not recover?'
and they went from this...
to this!
(excuse the lighting, it was so late at night)
it required minimal tools + equipment.

what do you guys think???

Oh yes. Imperial Trellis!

While I was reading my blogs of the day, I came across this fantastic picture over
at Elements of Style blog. My jaw dropped as I discovered that this fabulous wall isn't wallpaper. Oh no, not wallpaper, it's a DIY project that came out looking like the spitting
image of an extremely expensive wallpapered room.
Hello Gorgeous blog gives all the details on how to achieve this amazing look.

Breathtaking, huh?

Do it yourself: framed wallpaper panels

Last night while looking through all my magazines, I came across an old Better Homes and Gardens Do it Yourself Issue. I was happily surprised to find this dining room!
The home owner is Hollis Erickson of Roberts Erickson Design
While looking at House of Turqouise blog (one of my favorites) this morning, I recognized her bedroom and hence found Hollis's blog. I was so happy to find these images online! yay!

I am loving everything about this design team. Here are some images from her home and blog.
I desperately want to re create the framed wallpaper panels for my own home! It's my next project.
