Blissfully Eclectic: decorating with courage

It has come to my attention that most of us are ready to embrace some serious spiritual growth as we come into 2018. I truly believe it is going to be THE year we all get a little bit more authentic. As much as the trends have been leaning toward minimal design and decorating, I can't help but also notice the popularity of people who decorate their homes with serious personality. In the recent years I felt like every living room on instagram really was looking the same. I wasn't really finding that much originality. 

The later part of 2017 has been filled with homes all over the world that have been getting more and more well...personal. In my opinion the decor trend for 2018 is going to be decorating with serious courage. Courage to get wild with your authentic style and not following any rules. It's imperative to us, that if we want to live a more authentic life, we must decorate our environment accordingly.

I love that quote. So when I came across @blissfullyeclectic instagram, her home style really resonated with that idea to me. Decorating for who YOU are and who you are becoming. 

In 2018 It's going to be all about us creating an environment for our blissful selves, nobody else.

Creating Blissful rituals in 2018

As we prepare to embrace 2018, I am beginning to let the possibilities of the new year sink in. One of the ways I shift myself to walk into the new year strong is by getting my energy cleared out and ready for all the amazing things to come. I'll be sharing my countdown to 2018 rituals with my newsletter readers, so be sure to join us here if you haven't already. 

I have always felt intuitively that visualizing what you want to be is one of the most important things you can do to get to where you want to be. Which is one of the reasons I love books, magazines and movies. It's fun to see inspiring images that can help you paint the picture of the life you truly dream of. Now that blogs and social media are so prevalent, I love to get lost and daydream in imagery. 

I recently came across a beautifully inspiring photographer, Hannah Lemholt, and I have been so obsessed. After spending hours on her blog and falling madly in love with her photos, it reminded me how important it is to make sure that I am intentionally curating beauty everyday. When I am in the midst of my daily rituals, I always try to have flowers, candles and things that I love. However for 2018, I want to tend to this area of life even more. To make each routine as beautiful as a photo. So, I will be paying extra attention to throwing away random odds and ends, trash, things that don't have a home or aren't beautiful to me. Every moment of life should be more intentionally curated to its best. 

It's easy to let things go. If you were to see my desk right now, you would know what I mean. This coming year, I am going to be more intentional about how things look at home. I am going to do everything I can to make my 2018 Balanced & Blissful and I hope these images inspire you to create beauty in your everyday world.
