for the love of Gold! {Livingetc November 2010}

Absolutely head over heels for this gold kitchen island that graces the cover of the November 2010 issue of LivingEtc.
So bold + glamorous, I just love daring design choices that make a statement.
The rest of the home is pretty funky too, eccentric living at its best.
Totally the reason I love this inspiring shelter mag.
How else would we see design boundaries broken?
There is so much goodness in this issue, I am taking all of it in today.
Did you know that the creative people over at LivingEtc have a blog?
I freaked out when I found it...Life.StyleETC.
Check it out. It's so major!

The Decorista Trend Spotting...Wild wallpaper

I have been seeing this dark + botanical wallpaper everywhere lately.
It's all about dark florals for fall!
Bold and dramatic wallpaper is a major attention grabber. I love wallpaper!
Take some inspiration from over the top magazine worthy rooms.
I love the patterns and bright colors of these fabulous few...

green malachite wallpaper...are you kidding me? It's ridiculously good here, no?
I just think these panels of wallpaper are too cute!
how gorgeous is this mirrored vanity?

Home tour: Charlotte + her blissfully blue pad.

I don't know if you have noticed recently but blue is becoming my biggest design addiction.
My eye has been so drawn to homes with hues of blue all throughout the home.
Blue = Bliss.

This particular home I have been loving lately is from the May 2010 issue of LivingEtc.
I haven't seen it anywhere on the net and have been dying to share pics of it with you.
It's the home of a sweet girl named Charlotte and her man.
I absolutely love the ways they have used blue all over the home, even the kitchen.
And for my fascination of blue + pink, they have placed hints of the pretty color in the perfect places.
I adore this home tour!
How fun is this cabinet covered in blue zebra wallpaper. so very decorista!
I know its hard to see, but in the bedroom they painted the walls a very pale light blue and went bold with the bedding. I think its perfection.
I apologize for the poor photo day i promise i will buy a better one. ;)

artist abode: Jimmie Karlsson

I deal with artists all the time. I love them. I feel I am one.
This artist happens to be a furniture designer by day.
Jimmie Karlsson.
His London flat is insane.
He is one half of the furniture design co, Jimmie Martin.

Jimmie Martin makes these chairs you have probably seen before.

The black + white with pops of color is genius.

Check out more of his digs at Living Etc.

How rad is his graffiti wallpaper???
