Every time I return to visit my beautiful city, Los Angeles, I swear I turn into a little glam bohemian...
It's only for a few minutes before I get my business hat back on but when I'm in it I feel like I'm in the middle of a daydream.
There is just something about relaxed glamour, its so effortless and calming. Gazing outside (or inside) at beautiful palm trees, lush greenery and golden sunshine. It just makes me in such a good mood. The interiors look magical when white with muted neutral tones making such a statement. Outdoor eating has become almost an every meal affair, my goodness I'm loving this.
Woods are highlighted and encouraged as well as outdoor elements like shells and metals.
I'm not missing NYC one bit and soaking up all of this pretty business.
The dream ends after the weekend though. I'll be back to the city and back to my busy-ness!

Making my way to California...

As happy as I am about this gorgeous springtime weather,
it is with great pleasure that I head out west to Los Angeles for Legends! The design quarter in LA has an annual extravaganza with parties, unveilings, panels and the like. Each year they have special guest designers create themed store window displays and they are some of the best I have ever seen. I am so excited to take a peek at whats in store this year, but most of all, returning to my lovely city of angels will be the best part.
Oh, how I miss warm weather, sunny skies, outdoor meals, large modern homes, all white decor and fresh + healthy food. Everything I love, goes on in this city...and the home decor is always right up my alley.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Real Estate

Right before I moved to New York (almost two years I was finishing up a project when I was working for Woodson and Rummerfield House of Design. They had the ultimate job of designing the model units for the Ritz Carlton Residences in downtown LA. It was beyond an awesome job, I had the BEST time. Then, the other day I was watching Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and the real estate was being shown. How amazing would it be to live here...

First of all W and R are such talented and amazing designers so it would be a dream to live anywhere they adorn. Secondly, I've been working with a real estate expert (trying to learn some things for a business my dad and I are working on) and they advised that the insurance on the place would be ridiculous but with all of the amazing pieces in this place, contents insurance is ridiculously necessary.
Other than that...this might be my perfect apartment.

It's been a while since I have seen an apartment with major style. Especially an apartment with ridiculously beautiful grasscloth wallpaper. This adorable Silver Lake condo is not only stylish, it was done pretty affordably too! Not surprising that a stylish LA gal would be the creative kitten behind this swanky space...

I love the hot pink/red velvet chair, it has such beautiful legs.
We all know what I feel about pink in the cute! The artwork is beautiful too.
And nothing tops off a beautiful outdoor space that a glamorous chandelier. So dreamy.

now I'm off to Austin, Texas...

My short and super sweet time in Dallas has been so lovely but now I am off to my home city, Austin.
I love Austin, it's a beautiful town, reminds me a little bit of Los Angeles (I am missing LA like crazy). The thing I love about austin & la is the gorgeous greenery throughout the city...
oh and the fantastic views to boot.

This is one reason I love LA, the beautiful modern design + gorgeous view.
However, I won't be missing out too much. Austin has gorgeous views of its own. Take for example this fabulously modern lake house designed by Kasey McCartey.
The wood walls are majorly hip,  and the views are obviously killer.

fashion meets decor {rock star chic}

gothic & glam, rock star chic  fashion look
gothic & glam, rock star chic  apartment decor...
for my fabulous rock star weekend, I will be channeling your style!
This is Los Angeles rock star glam to the tee. Think evenings out in the swanky city streets.
Live music halls decked in gorgeous velvets.
Glistening dresses sparkle on the city girls and the gents sport the yummy leather.
So rock and roll. I love it.

bon weekend!

office space of the day...LA city girl style

deliciously gray walls + beautiful floral rug + modern light fixture + fireplace + orange bike =
domestic bliss

This is the office space of my fellow Los Angeles blogger Rebecca of Her adorable little office space just brightens my day. I just love her collections of books and personal photographs throughout the home. Those items display such character. My heart also has a soft spot for that black and white chevron footstool. I think we are all loving gray walls lately, right? So fresh!

Check out the rest of her hollywood bungalow home office tour!

Oh so chic boutiques...Tory Burch

Like many of you I am a huge fan of Tory Burch. I rock a TB black leather bag + wallet every single day. I happen to make the drive down Robertson Blvd on the regular and I always pass by her store. The bright orange + deep green color combo just absolutely inspires me. Such an interesting and distinct color combination that she chose for her store front. I am kind of obsessing over it.
So I went a little deeper and did some research of her many boutiques. I love the uses of mirrors throughout, keeps the place looking jazzy. The light fixtures are so amazing, don't get me started. The walls are so exciting, and her colors and extremely bright and fun, just like her. Love!

i SPI a fabulous dining room...

I have got a huge girl crush on a new design team,
SPI (Sarah Shetter + Alison Palevsky... a darling design duo)
I have fallen for this absolutely gorgeous dining room that they designed.
The green, the glossy black and fantastic light fixture.
Gorgeous, no?

SPI designed the black lacquer dining table, and the chairs were purchased from the Elizabeth Taylor estate in Palm Springs. Above the dining table hangs an oversized 5' x 5' 1960s Italian crystal mazzega chandelier.

the decorista goes shopping...{weego home, santa monica}

I'm planning to do some major shopping this week.
I have a few projects going on and I need to get some more furnishings.
I am dying to hit up the little shop Weego Home in Santa Monica.
Online, their stuff is fantastic and I can't wait to see it all in person.
Weego also has budget friendly interior decor services AND they also have a store called Weego Baby
Check out the website, you might get some inspiration.
I certainly got inspired by this gorgeous wall of style!
How cute does the baby store look?

building your dream home...a Los Angeles design love story

Jamie Adler, daughter of Phyllis Morris (an LA design powerhouse) and now CEO of her mothers company, lives in this beautiful Los Angeles home nested in the beautiful hills of beverly. She and her husband and business partner, John, redesign the entire place...from what seems to have not been a dream home.
How fun does that sound? Renovating an ordinary home into your dream home with your husband?
And it happens to be on the same block as her parents home...i love idea keeping close to the family.
The 4,000 square foot home has hints of glamour, modern touches, quirky art and is full of love!
I am absolutely smitten with her style, she must get it from her mamma.
here is Jamie in her master bedroom, how adorable + stylish is she?

all on the western 'cold front'

No matter the weather here in Los Angeles, us girls break out our UGG's.
Uggs are an ultimate staple in any LA girls wardrobe....
I have a few pair, but seeing as this cold front is freezing the heck out of my apartment,
I need to invest in a new pair...
I have them in beige, tan and brown and for a girl who wears all black, i'm thinking
I am dying for these, exclusively made for NORDSTROM
Need these now!

I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THIS INSPIRATION BOARD! It's by none other than the founder of TURQUOISE!

Turquoise LA is absolutely one of my most favorite blogs. Vanessa De Vargas is THE woman to watch for all things, style, design, furniture, innovation, etc. I love that she has the same passion that I do for vintage antique furniture. She also has created a designers networking event that I cannot wait to attend. She is brilliant! I can't wait to check out her space.

Check her out here!

Here are some images of her (in my opinion) AMAZING work!!!
