Beautiful moments & happy weekend...

I recently was just clearing out some photos from my Iphone and wanted to share some random beautiful moments that were captured in my life...

 A daytime wedding tabletop...
 vintage home decor magazines...
 lovely bookcase styling...
an afternoon full of cherry blossoms...
 a perfectly pale pink door...
the view from dinner at sunset along the west coast.

Keeping it personal.

There are certainly many ways to style a console and I thought I knew all of them. That is until I laid eyes on this incredible vignette from the home of Carolina Hererra...
It's different and unique and totally fresh. I love this zebra console, I am kind of wanting one in my apartment right about now. Then the white x-bench with black piping...oh la la. I just love how she displays her family photos in such a collection type of way. A few books here and there stacked beautifully, then topped off with a beautiful pop art self portrait. I just love it. How very diva!
You don't have to always have a self portait to be chic. Photos of others always work in my book too. What I love about these consoles is that the decor is very realistic. Its not just trendy items that scream, I was professionally decorated. There are very sweet framed family photographs on display, which to me, says something is very special going on here. It keeps things so personal, which I can appreciate in a home. Making sure there are personal items like this is essential when you want to love where you live.

office space of the day...DVF bombshell

I so fell for this Diane Von Fuerstenberg space upon first glance...
black and white curtains + african rug + asian console + small statues + bombshell photo art =
domestic bliss
I truly believe in bombshell photography is fab artwork...

I used this Sophia Loren print above my fireplace and it makes me happy every single day!
My girlfriend Jen used this Warhol esque print for her office too and it looks so fab!

Who is your favorite bombshell??? Would you guys use a bombshell photo???

THE DOORS OF NEW YORK...

So. I have a new little project that has been taking up quite a bit of my time. I'm sure you are all as obsessed with INSTAGRAM as much as I am. I literally addicted. Living in New York I find so much inspiration, especially in the art + architecture of this city. Every corner I turn, I find something new and inspiring and I've been documenting, snapping photos (my new side hobby) of them for months. So, I finally am posting them on an instagram  @thedoorsofnewyork. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do, there are some seriously good doors in this city. Maybe one day ill make a book out of them...

SUMMERTIME STYLE...

I am spending most of my summer days by the beach, so it's only fitting that my little decorista heart is longing for some lovely beach photography. I think it looks fabulous year round but in summertime, it's oh so happenin'. I am especially loving DEBBIE HYMOWITZ beach photography, she's is my current favorite NYC photographess...

Now here are some of what inspire me, I just love the look of Massimo Vitali's work. I see it everywhere and its absolutely gorgeous.
However, I like to keep things new and fresh and Deb's work just makes me swoon. The color is just so powerful and really can inject some gorgeousness into a room...
GOTTA GET IT.

Inspired by Matchook Mag...

The latest issue of Matchbook was full of the most inspirational photo shoots I just couldn't get enough. I instantly gravitated towards this black and white shoot with shots from my two loves...
My first love belongs to LA, where I have lived for the past 7 years. My heart and soul were nourished in the city of angels...and then I recently moved to New York City and everyday Manhattan gives me new, fresh feeling of love....

and then Paris, the city of love...
I think these 3 photos in black frame with white matting might make the perfect bathroom artwork.

Also, I was featured in this issue too {matchbook investigates, pg 44} alongside one of my blog besties, Cassie from coco + kelley. So fun.

the Art of Living... bringing home Hollywood

So I just want to let you all in on something that I got today that just warms my heart. This gorgeous Sophia Loren print is going in my new cozy bedroom. It looks amazing framed in white and on my muddy gray walls. I can't stop staring at the photo, its perfection.
It got me thinking of my love for vintage photography and I wanted to share with you all some of my favorite to get you inspired. Hollywood photography in a home can be very chic and give a room an entire mood change. Photography can conjure up emotion, which is essential for achieving domestic bliss! (I fondly remember NKTOB posters on my wall doing the same thing for me as a young girl.yes mom, I will always love you for doing that for me). For some, rock and roll shots give a bit of edge and for others old hollywood starlets add a touch of glamour and romance. Whatever your preference, I say go for it, you can't go wrong.

designer ryan korban uses the BEST vintage hollywood looks.
i love this audrey shot styled by windsor smith.

art + room {my current art obsessions}

pink sectional + flamingo pillows + stark white walls + Slim Aarons photograph =
domestic bliss
The right artwork is to a room as the perfect belt is to an outfit. It's so necessary if you are wanting to convey some serious style. I love art. In fact, most of you don't know, before I went out and started my own business, I was working at an art gallery in Beverly Hills. It's extremely important for art to be personal AND stylish. It gives a room a bit of movement, art absolutely can lend itself to creating the mood for your room. So important. Lately, I am loving photographs and these fabulous finds...
We have all seen this gorgeous Elizabeth Taylor piece, and its pink! Hello. Totally decorista!
black fading into gold, the is the epitome of sophisticated chic...
I adore the way this butterly gives a fluttery feeling to the room, very whimsical.
Absolutely and I mean absolutely NOTHING says mad style like an Andy Warhol print.

domestic bliss

Okay, I am in love with this office and that fabulous, fabulous photo. I think i have just decided, that while I love paintings (i even paint myself), photography is my most favorite form of artwork.

i love photography and how it brings out color in decor...

P.S. The new issue of Lonny is live!

bliss in the kitch' ...black and yellow splendor

The minute I laid eyes on this photo by Laure Joliet, I was done.
It's just delicious.
Hello, notice the yellow and white striped outdoor area, complete with an aqua rocker.
I am forever a fan of cowhide rugs and Saarinen looking tables, of course. Swoon
The playfulness of these elements are absolute perfection.
The chairs are so incredibly genius with the dark walls and black + white cabinetry.
Not to mention the ever so funky chandelier.
loving it!

Amazing angles (interiors photography)

I love interiors photography. I honestly wish I was better at taking photos, or just had a better camera.
Being on so many sets lately has taught me so much about angels and how to shoot.
So much more goes into a photoshoot than meets the eye.
I'm just crazy about these curious angles in the photos above.
Very effortless looking, but probably really well thought out.

secret of domestic bliss #18... decorating with vintage photography

If you flip open your favorite design books and magazines, it is likely that you will see photography in the homes of extremely chic and glamorous people.
Being that I work in a photography art gallery, I have an extreme appreciation for vintage photography.
A photo creates a mood and can often conjure up a special memory.
It can speak volumes of your personality and style and gives a sophisticated touch to your home.
Lately, I have been seeing photography more and more in my favorite spaces and I am loving the look of these dynamic shots.
Black and whites are forever classic although sometimes I am drawn to shots with a punch of color!
