3. How adorable is Julie Hillman's wishbone chair??
4. I couldn't do a post on pink without showing Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz pink bedroom from his Rockaway home! Chic Benjamin chic!
5. I have a "thing" for antlers...especially pink lacquered antlers from Etsy. So cute!
6. A room made of cotton candy!!! Read about it here.
7. I am DYING to use this wallpaper in a powder room. Pink toilet paper wallpaper from French designer Koziel! Love it!!
Hope you loved this color and post!
Until next week...xoxo

Styleicious Sunday...SPIKES

Since I missed my Styleicious post yesterday...
I wanted to make sure and get it in today. This weekend was such a whirlwind of events and lots of sourcing amazing finds. I must say, after peeping some of my favorite home decor shops, I am noticing that spikes are everywhere. Especially in fashion, home decor, restaurants, etc.  Kelly Wearstler uses them a lot of course, cause girlfriend is always on point! Part of me absolutely loves it because there is something very artsy about them. They add an element of edge that is fresh and incredibly chic.
I love this mirror, which will probably never go out of style..
{get your own Ashton Sutton Wall Mirror}
and here is a pair of my most favorite shoes, Sam Edleman spikes. I get compliments every single time I wear them. Gotta love that spike action.

10 things that rocked my world this week: November 6

1. I was incredibly surprised to see this beautiful script on the street window...especially because this particular phrase is no stranger to my normal speak.

2. Okay, this book is really good. Live, Love, and Decorate by Martyn Lawrence Bullard is gorgeous, funny and a definite must have for decor coffee table books.
3. The lovely Novogratz sent me some paint for my new apartment. I am trying to come up with a clever way to use it. Stay tuned!
4. Bowtie gloves are all the rage this fall...we couldn't decide between the camel or the black. So chic.
5. I ran into this beautiful woman one morning at my local Starbucks. She was carrying the most amazing Birkin bag, brightly colored and python. Wow!
6. Spotted this super cool neon basketball hoop at The Future Perfect and I seriously loved it. I will be keeping this in mind for my future sons.
7. Got some really good girl time with my blog besties Cassandra of Coco+Kelley & Chrisse of BugandBear. They are two of my favorites!
8. Aspen social club might be the coolest spot ever. Check out the ceiling...how incredible is that grouping of horns. Talk about wild.
9. One of my favorite luxuries in life is beautiful smelling soaps. I just can never resist when they have lovely packaging too.
10. Hands down my favorite find from the Brooklyn Flea this weekend. This heavy, brass pair of Art Deco bookends absolutely rocked my world! So glam!

Claiborne Swanson Frank's NYC home {Elle Decor November 2011}

This months issue of Elle Decor is just overflowing with gorgeousness...
I have spotted so much malachite goodness in this issue, I can't get enough of it. It really gets me when people accessorize well.  It's the small elements of a home that give it great style. Photographer Claiborne Swanson Frank's Manhattan apartment was featured and I just love it! She is super cute and super stylish which makes me love her instantly. I think the leopard x-bench and malachite accessories are ridiculously good...makes me want some myself.
There is nothing better than a beautiful light gray wall color paired with a venetian mirror and gorgeous candleabras.
This is a pretty room. You can't get better than a gorgeous daybed in the home office, right?
I was so excited to read this issue, it's packed with big, glossy, colorful pages. Usually, when Elle Decor does purple on the cover...it usually means goodness and glamour are inside. Gotta love that.

Inspiration and the city: NYC's APOTHEKE

Happy Friday lovely readers! As we have all heard, New York is the city that never sleeps, so you can just imagine...
my delight as I stepped into this swanky lounge in the heart of Chinatown. I was completely overwhelmed to see that we had stepped into a darkly lit lounge/bar decorated with striped green and white settees, red velvet ottomans and overpowered by an entire wall of bar made out of white Carrera marble and decorated with hundreds of antique medicine bottles.
This fabulous gem is the one and only Apotheke. While these pictures barely do justice to preserving the atmosphere of Apotheke (a major part of the experience are the drinks, and I highly suggest you start off with the Strawberry Fennel (fennel-infused vodka with California strawberries soaked in orange liquor, fennel oil essence- beyond DIVINE) the décor which was inspired by European apothecaries absinthe dens, and the Biedermeier design era can be re-created with some of my picks below.

1)We can start with the perfect vintage bookcase
2)Then, This Casablanca sofa is a no brainer. For the purposes of this post it would need to be reupholstered in deep red almost maroon velvet and the more “worn” looking the better. Brass nail heads of course and dark wood legs please.
3)I really love that the settees at Apotheke are striped. While the green and white combination wouldn’t translate as well into the home, I would love to incorporate the stripes but with an ottoman like this. Black and white would be so sharp with the velvet sofa.
4)The flooring at Apotheke is rather detailed with tile inserts. I am a big lover of dark hardwood floors but also thing a rug is a greaty way to not only tie in all the elements in the room but to just add warmth. This Moroccan Rug could never go out of style.
5)Note the 2 caned wing back chairs in the corner of Apotheke. Caned Wing Back Chairs |  love the shape, I would just reupholster the pillows.
6)Apotheke is so unique because it has this mystical vintage feel to it. Like you stepped back into time. Antique bottles add personality and that similar feel.

The Wedding Decorista: style by VERA WANG

When you are asked to be maid-of-honor for a wedding, it's almost like unwrapping a Christmas gift...beyond exciting! Then suddenly it occurs to you that a big part of responsibility is now on your shoulders. I am that friend who you ask to help "decorista" your wedding, because you have no idea what you are doing. It's incredibly exciting, but also a lot of work.

Typically, I am always pretty decisive when it comes to picking out a color story (for this winter-time, California wedding we are going with RICH NAVY and a pretty pink) but when I realized that I have to pick the bridesmaids dresses too, I was stumped. It's too much for my little decorating heart (I cringe at the thought of bridesmaids dresses).
Until I found the most amazing, not to mention incredibly affordable, collection of bridesmaids dresses by Vera Wang...and I just had to share this find with all of you!
Since navy is our dress color of choice, I was delighted to find this long (perfect for wintertime) navy ultra fitted and flattering mermaid style dress. Finding the dress was much easier than I thought, I just can't wait to try it on! Oh, and these other options that Ms. Wang has designed are incredible too! Perfect for fashionable bridesmaids.

Book Love & Review: The Well Lived Life

Since I have been doing a lot of writing lately, I have been reading so many art + design books for inspiration...

The one I am loving the most right now is The Well- Lived Life by Dominique Browning.
It's a perfect book for any girl who wants to live in domestic bliss. Packed with gorgeous photos of entertaining and home style, my eyes are just filled with delight!
The reason why its utterly fabulous, well because Assouline is the publisher of course, they are an absolute powerhouse for well done books.
Of course, it was also put together by the editors of House + Garden and hailed as
"the result of one magazine's long love affair with the pleasures of home."...that doesn't hurt either.

COUTURE + COLOUR: EMERALD GREEN

Hello all! Morgan here hoping you all had a fabulous Halloween!
This week's color is one of my favorites...
EMERALD GREEN!!
1. Elie Saab's Spring 2012 collection is rich with color!  The greens are incredible but when I saw this emerald beauty mixed with sparkle my jaw dropped! STUNNING!
2. I have always loved the "tank" series from Alexander Taylor! This floor lamp brings in such great color to a space.
3. This designer (unknown, if you know please tell me!) brought emerald in through the fabric on the chair and in the table. Simple splashes of color but it does so much for the room.
4. Emerald paint on the wall with a lovely purple juju hat to pop off the green!
5. This fabulous space was designed by my new boss Doug Meyer! He is a master of color (why I love him so much) and used emerald green perfectly in the sofa, chair and rug!
6. I looove these emerald green glasses from www.lookintheattic.com I would love to fill my cupboards full of these! Mint lemonade would taste extra heavenly from them.
7. I used two of these Donna Wilson ernest zig zag pouffes
for a project except they were in black and white but I would love to use the ones in green sometime soon! Aren't they adorable?
8. I told you I love colored doors... this one is amazingly gorgeous! So chic it makes my heart skip a beat (a little rhyme for you all) image found via.
9. This coffee table from 1st Dibs is amazing and I need it now! Made in the 70's this electrified plexiglas and mirrored glass low table by Ron Ferri would be such a cool piece to have in any space! Maybe throw on a few of these Emerald Green Diamonds
Emerald green electrified plexiglass?!! Yes please!
I hope you enjoyed this color and post as I mush as I do. Emerald is gorgeous and I can't get enough of it!!
Until next week...xoxo

tablescape tuesday: getting to thanksgiving tabletop ideas

martha stewart
I can't believe its already November...
I feel as if October just flew by and its already time to start preparing for Thanksgiving. This year on my tabletop I am all about elements of nature...wood, linen, anything that resemble what the earth is all about. You all know me though and I wouldn't do anything without a little glamour.
So perhaps adding bits of gold would make the perfect addition to my very au natural tablescape. Don't you think?

Gold Rush

Hop aboard this glorious...
Gold is being used more and more throughout the lifestyle realm and I happen to love gold! It shines brighter and speaks volumes in luxuriousness! To make this metal stand out even more, pair it with black! Look at the strong contrast, so breathtakingly bold!

Black and gold is my absolute fave combo. It can be difficult to pull off, however when done correctly can be highly dramatic and unequivocally glamorous!

Weekend Decorating: how to display your china properly

Ever wondered how to display your perfect china to make it look amazing?
Well, I have just the solution...

get a gorgeous wallpaper and recover your china cabinet like maison decor has done so beautifully...
I also really enjoy this photo above, because it shows stacked plates and one on its side to show the beauty of the dish. It's the perfect balance of storage and display.
Even just a dark paint on your cabinets could do the trick for extra bold showcasing.

Now do you see the impact of wallpaper?

10 things that rocked my world this week! HPMKT edition

1. My first time in High Point, North Carolina was so nice, every person in that town is sweet as pie, I thoroughly enjoyed the locals.

2. Blue walls + antlers...this was a sight for my eyes, masculine yet oh so pretty
3. I received a copy of Deborah Needleman's new book, The Perfectly Imperfect Home and I am in LOVE with it. I suggest pre-ordering your copy immediately, it's so, so good!
4. This vintage light fixture was calling to me, literally saying "ashlina....you know you need me"

5. The options for custom colored rugs were so much fun to play with. 220Elm had hands down the best rug displays. I LOVED it.
6. The press breakfast with Martyn Lawrence Bullard was highly entertaining, dahhhhhling.

7.Black, tufted, scuffed up leather is my new weakness. Thanks to the Halo showroom for throwing an outstanding party and a perfect place to sit and gab with the ladies.
8. Because the fine people at Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams Home were so sweet to us, we got a driver and a hot Porsche to roll around HPMKT. Now this was fun!
9. Now one of the greatest things about HPMKT is that everyone provides the most wonderful food and drink to keep you full and happy. I don't think I have ever eaten so well at an event before. Amazingly, the champagne was well stocked, which was great for me since I don't like alcohol, just a bit of bubbly.

10. The Architectural Digest party was oh so dreamy. Low fairy lights, the perfect chill in the air, and the best of the best decorators and publishing peeps were in attendance. Such a charming affair.

NYC Fabulosity Friday: BG at Bergdorf Goodman

Happy Friday Lovely Readers!
Its no secret that as far as fashion and shopping goes, New York gives all the cities a run for their money. As an avid little shopper, I find I work up quite an appetite after a long day of browsing the racks. Besides being a mecca to girl’s like me with MAH-JOR shopping addiction’s, Bergdorf Goodman’s 7th floor restaurant, BG is just another reason (and there are many) as to why Bergdorf’s is my ultimate fave fabulous place to shop in the city. INSIDER TIP: the lobster mac and cheese which is absolutely divine & will keep you full for hours and if you stop in between the hours of 3:00-5:00pm be sure to opt for the Bg Tea Service: think high tea served Queen Elizabeth style- so decadent!.
Designed by Kelly Wearstler, this four room space withsweeping views of Central Park is just constant eye-candy. I simply die over the baby blue bonnet chairs and the black and gold wall moldings.
Take a look below to see this BG inspired bedroom...

1. HAUTE HOUSE | ARIEL BED

Highlights of High Point Market --Part Three and video interview

Aside from seeing the showrooms, meeting the designers behind the looks was probably the most interesting part...

We got the opportunity to meet with Eileen Katherine Boyd who partnered with Duralee to create an incredible collection of fabrics. I was just smitten with the vibrant colors and femininity.
She was such a delight to talk to and I wanted to let her share with you all her inspiration...
I love her use of color and I love that she painted a lot of the artwork in the showroom herself.

OTHER TRENDS I LOVED AT MARKET
Sculptural accessories...

Bunching cocktail tables...

layered geometric shapes...

Highlights of High Point Market --Part Two

The colors of each showroom were so different at High Point Market , they really were in full force and were probably my favorite thing to see...
I love to see the way different color palates go with different styles of furniture. The Hickory Chair showroom was so delightful to my eyes as PINK was definitely present in the building.
I loved the mix of pink and light gray in this particular section, the modern pink chair was hotness!
I also fell hard for the yellow mixed with light gray color scheme. I loved how they integrated fellow blogger/designer, Tobi Fairley's new collection of fabrics. Preppy, traditional fun.
Other showrooms that I absolutely loved and were so gracious to us were...
GLOBAL VIEWS
their sculptural accessories were spot on marvelous and had just the perfect hint of glamour!
BUNGALOW 5
Their colorful twist on traditional pieces just excites me, lots of fun chinoiserie!
The Laura Kirar collection was amazing!
Their new dining collection for Precedent is crazy cool. Very Mad Men sixties, which was EVERYWHERE this season.
They had such a fabulous mix of chairs with super luxe fabrics. Total swoon action.

Thanks so much to all of the showrooms for being so sweet and supportive!
To be continued...

Highlights of High Point Market --Part One

As you all know, I have just been so excited to share with you a peek inside High Point Market, so here we go...
It probably was the most incredible two days of my year and the weather in North Carolina was perfection. I was overloaded with the most amazing showrooms that I have ever seen, chandeliers that just rocked my world, good quality time with my oldest and best blog friends (Coco and Kelley, Elements of Style, Maison 21, Rue Magazine, Eddie Ross and Matchbook Magazine) and great conversations with designers who I love to admire (Martyn Lawrence Bullard + Mary MacDonald)!

Thanks in large part to Palliser,  220 Elm and Duralee for being the reason my first time at HPMKT was off the charts! I had the pleasure of being on a great sponsored team with Christian + Crystal. It was great to see the showrooms together and get different perspectives on what's new and what's next.
We really enjoyed the Oly Studio showroom, such fabulous merchandising, it was definitely a favorite.
I fell head over heels for this gorgeous cowhide, winged arm chair. So snazzy.
I also LOVE this dark wall/light bedding contrast. Hello haute headboard!
Oh, and canopy beds will always reign supreme, no?
to be continued.....

COUTURE + COLOUR: MINTY GREEN

When I saw this outfit on Pinterest from Fashionedit I knew it was the perfect outfit for my next post. How adorable is this girl?? Her beautiful red hair mixed with the fab mint green outfit... I'm loving it!!
1. Retro refrigerator! Let me tell you, I currently have one in my apartment and it is far from glamorous (even though it is called the Princess Series) it is gross! This one shown here from barsandbooths.com is adorable, after you read this post you must go look at their appliances that can come in custom colors! A color lover's dream!!
2. I have had this imaged saved from Marmalade Interiors for awhile now... they use color in such a rich, classic and beautiful way! I love their work. This image of the mint green wall is seriously stunning.
3. I love when people use paint to cover their entire walls (base boards, walls and moldings) and I loved that they happened to use mint green!
4. Repainting old furniture is always a fun way to create a one of kind piece on a budget. If you don't feel like doing it yourself you can always rely on sites like Etsy to find shops where people who love doing it themselves sell their items like this mint green dresser from Minthome (appropriate name ey?). A fabulous piece of furniture!!
5. I'm loving this mint green gloss lacquered end table from furnitureinfashion.net!
6. I have an obsession with colored doors (be prepared for more to come) really though, I do! Every time I see a colored door in the city I have to stop and snap a pic. Love that I was able to find a mint green (ish) one from Miles Reed.
7. Suzy Hoodless is my girl!! I love her and her wallpapers. I recently finished working on a project where I used one of her papers, I was so thrilled the client loved it too! I love the mix of colors in the Jewel of Spring wallpaper. So cute.
8. I love fine china and I would love to own this set from www.everythingstopsfortea.com.

I'm loving all these images from this post - how could one not like this color??
I think I said "love" a lot in this post.
Until next week...xoxo!

office space of the day... a picturesque desk

Hi everyone! Please excuse my absence from the blog...High Point Market has been incredibly wonderful yet completely time consuming. There is so much to share with you all, I am just bursting at the seams and will do a big post all about it soon. We have seen some of the most beautiful things, which inspires me to covet a desk like this beautiful black and gold one...
incredibly gorgeous desk + pineapple based lamp + classic white molding + textured wallpaper =
