Styleicious Sunday...the things of SPRING

Neons all the rage right now...especially when it comes to home decor AND fashion.
 I am so looking forward to adding SPRING touches to my decor, fashion and lifestyle, aren't you?

Of course not only will I add flowers to any table surface, but bright and bold lipsticks are my favorite. I love to wear this YSL coral gloss in the springtime, it goes well with  my skin tone.
I will do anything and everything to make sure that fluros and neons are all up in my world...
I've decided that I need this satchel...ASAP
although I think I must get it in PINK.
oh the highlighter colors...so fun to play with.

How fab is this idea of combining succulents and hot pink neon macrame spotted on design sponge?

wonderful walls of windows

My favorite thing about being on the west coast is the amazing walls of windows. I am in Las Vegas checking out the LV Market and getting familiar with what is the latest and greatest in the design scene. I am loving every minute of it and also getting prepared for my sisters wedding on Saturday in the OC. Lots and lots to do but what is taking my breath away while I am here is the amazing homes with windows with ridiculous views. Gosh I miss the west coast...

needing. wanting. loving. (glass coffee tables}

I am currently on the hunt for the perfect glass coffee table for my digs...
It's honestly so overwhelming with so many different choices, especially when I am dying to find the perfect one. Since my apartment is deprived of space, glass is the perfect finish because it doesn't feel as heavy. However, I am desperately in love with black and brass finishes like these two living rooms have.
I love the looks of these tables, so I am inspired by them but wanting them with glass.
Here are the ones I am obsessed with right now...
1.pretty brass and glass porterandpunk coffee table
2.hexagonal Horchow coffee table
3.This double level Worlds Away coffee table
4.a pair of black and glass coffee tables from Hayneedle

Happy Monday Morning Decor Daydreaming

Every once and a while I get so inspired by ethereal decor...
You know, all white and super feminine, european touches that just give off that dreamy vibe. As most of you know, more often than not I love bold, glam and bangin'. However, on this beautiful October Monday (and crispness in the air), I am feeling on some dreamy-ness. I love the light blue dresser with black finishes and the retro camera so delicately placed on the pile of boxes.
I just adore the stacks of books and magazines (much like the ones in my apartment) They just make you feel like home sweet home, no?
This purple settee with piles of pillows...complete domestic bliss.

needing. wanting. loving. {hexagonal & octagonal mirrors}

Ever since I have been in New York City, I have been more in love with mirrors than ever......
Mirrors are so essential when you live in a shoebox sized space and the phrase 'the more the merrier' completely applies. As I was on the hunt, like usual, for the most fabulous mirrors this week, my heart just fell for the mirrors at Flair NYC. They have the most exquisite hexagonal and octagonal mirrors and they just took my breath away. Now I am completely obsessed and wanting one or two...

secret of domestic bliss #56...small space seating

Did you guys see my new loveseat I got for my small nyc studio?
I am just beyond in love with the beautiful teal tufted leathery goodness.
When you have a small space, such as a small NYC apartment, extra seating is so very necessary. What came to mind for me is a beautiful loveseat at the foot of the bed. Perfect for tv viewing and fireplace closeness.
 It was essential I get something in my apartment that would provide extra seating for the guests I have staying with me this week. (can't wait. Cassie + Meg)  The NYC Fashion Week festivities are in full effect for the next few weeks and I have a whole host of events to attend. So this little sofa, came in the nick of time!
Do you guys love foot of the bed loveseats as much as I do? I am so fond of the look.

needing. wanting. loving. {mixing metallics}

Oh I am so very in love with the gorgeousness of mixes of silver + gold...
Nothing looks quite more put together than mixed metallics. I truly believe that the art of the mix is the best part. Mixing highs and lows, patterns and prints, furs and linens....it's all so very fun to do. I encourage all of you to never shy away from mixing silver and gold. Metallics are very in style and can compliment even the drab-est of decor styles.

quite glamorous, no?

In the Hamptons today and will be at the Designer Showhouse...make sure to follow me on Facebook for the fabulous photos!

because today I am LOVING sconces

This afternoon I had a wonderful time scouring the city for some great finds. For some reason, I found the most amazing sconces and now am obsessed with finding a perfect pair for my new apartment. Maybe even more than one pair will do the trick! I love the way they look solo too.

LOVE this mirror/sconce....gorgeous!
I really love these white ones too!

needing. wanting. loving. {bone inlay pieces}

Oh the loveliness of bone inlay furniture pieces. I attended NYIGF this week and saw such fabulous and stylish bone inlay work. My favorite were the mirrors, the detail was incredible. However, the minute I laid eyes on these chairs at this dining table, I knew I had to have something like these sweet things in my new apartment. Unfortunately, I have no room for a dining table and chairs but perhaps I could go with a mirror or stylish tray...

GORGEOUSNESS...

NYC apartment decor style: bits of brick...

It has been a super productive/hectic week for this lil decorista...NYC life is taking some serious getting used to. The more apartments I get to see and work with here, the more I realize the amazing character some of these teeny little gems have. Moldings with gorgeous detailed lines, beautifully narrow yet tall windows, curvy pedestal sinks in the bathroom. My most favorite and the fairest of them all...little bits of exposed brick.
Oh, its just so delicious, I am quickly becoming obsessed. You really can make brick work with any decor style. It can work with industrial chic, romantic, modern, even a little bit glam.

I love when brick is painted in glossy white too. the lonny offices are fab-tastic!

appreciating the chic mix of black and white interiors

Today I am on a shoot styling for an upcoming campaign that is going to be amazing! Remember my last campaign for LM? This will be something similar, I am so excited to share with you all. My inspiration on today is black and white, its the most classic yet chic and stylish color combo. I often am drawn to the simplicity of the mix...

The Art of Living: layered living rooms

When decorating your home, it's important to create a gathering place. A room where everyone can collect together and enjoy great conversation and fun, that is what creates domestic bliss
Some people prefer the kitchen, much like my family, but I also really love the feel of an entertaining ready living room. A well decorated living room will have multiple seating/conversation areas, walls layered with gorgeous pieces that elicit great conversations and plenty of fabrics, patterns and interesting textures. I always think too many mirrors never hurt anybody...oh, and never skimp on reading material either. Big photography based books make for the most fun!

Life in Brooklyn...bright and breezy

I have a small little crush on Brooklyn. Everytime I go there, I have a great time...its just full of surprises. Like this adorable little studio, decorated by Nick Olsen, it's a complete treat! Pretty and light walls give it the ultimate pick me up feeling, total happiness. Each little adornment and detail is carefully done to ensure the perfect functionality for a super small space yet still keeping its visual beauty. Check out this video for tips on small spaces. I love the white with green trim everywhere, such a fresh combo.

my love affair with elephants...

I love elephants. I always have. Ever since I was a little girl, I felt such a connection to the big beautiful species. I have collections of elephants from everywhere I have traveled. I even have the cutest elephant coffee mugs.
I recently read that elephants have been known to die of broken hearts if a mate dies. They refuse to eat and will lay down, shedding tears until they starve to death. They refuse all human help.
The moment I read this, I knew thats why I love this animal so much. Elephants are romantics at heart. I love that and what I love even more is when I see them in home decor. They are all over the magazines and photos. As I decorate my new NYC space, I am feeling the need to get another one.

The JEWELS of the home...

I have come to the conclusion that it's high time I find the perfect chandelier for my apartment bedroom. I have always longed for a big, gorgeous and glossy chandelier. They are my absolute favorite! Have you seen my design website? I designed it around a glittering drop chandelier. Every one of them is so beautiful and different and just delights my heart.

Whether its a glossy black chandelier or gold and crystal chandelier, its probably the perfect addition to your life. I know any one of these beauties would be the most perfect addition to mine...

art that i absolutely heart {represent your city}

A while back, while shopping in Brooklyn, I came across this poster and fell absolutely head over heels in love with this bright and funky NYC subway poster. How ridiculously hip is this layout? A white frame and thick white matting and you are in business.
What I love most about it, it represents the city I now reside in and the marvelous subway system we have here. I love when people LOVE their city and totally represent in their home (and not in sports team flags) through really stylish artwork.

The Art of Living: great kitchen/bar stools

I love meeting my new clients in the city for the first time. Especially when they are fun, sweet and fabulous!
Yesterday, I met my new beautiful client, Dina and we chatted on and on and realized that in NYC sometimes there is just no place for a dining table (that so won't fly with me...love to entertain)!
 However, for the most part, all I have to search for when looking for seating options are bar stools. The name 'bar stool' for some reason just gives me the jitters....I am not in love with them. So, in search for the perfect bar stools, I found a few that changed my perspective.
Now that I have found these cool and sophisticated stools, I am so very into them.
These fabulous pair were picked out by W + R for the Ritz Carlton. I worked on this project and let me tell you, its breathtaking!
These are incredibly gorgeous white with yellowish green seating. I love them.

Brilliant and divided art works

Deep purple velvet, gorgeous ikat-ish print pillows and this fabulous paneled, scenic art hanging...swoon-a-loon! Absolutely charmed by these amazing works of art that really are not your normal art at all, yet make the perfect substitution. They are charming and chic, I cannot get enough of them right now. The chinoiserie ones, so preppy and fun, just might be my favorite.

The power of molding

Sorry for the lack of posts this weekend, there have been some crazy things going on in my world this week. I never want to let you guys go days without decor inspiration, so I appreciate your patience.
Having said that...part of what I have been doing is getting serious on my boutique retail project in Nolita. What we are doing next...MOLDING.
Molding is a must, especially for an older building. It can give such a sophisticated and polished look. I'm really in love with these beautiful ways you can use molding to make an impact.
