Design Crush...BERRIE BENSON

Sometimes I feel so lucky because not only do I get to be a designer, I get to be a blogger too. The best part about being a blogger is acknowledging the amazing people in my field, espeically my favorite designers. I love what I do and I love my own looks and styles but I REALLY LOVE to gush over my fellow talented design professionals. I am always in awe of incredible and interesting work.
Berrie Benson is no exception and lately has been rocking my world. Her design eye so fresh and fab, I am loving all that she does. Here are some of my favorite looks...
the ever so in demand closet + vanity...I love the three green chinoiserie pieces and those scones are just to die.
 the perfect guest bedroom...
This entryway wallpaper, art and chair combo is such an incredible mix.
And alas, as we all know the beloved home office. Could we please talk about those gorgeous emerald chairs? Perched right up next to that beautiful blush pink wall...a job well done.

I HE(ART) DESIGN: Bubblicious

Hello everyone, it’s Lynnette from The It Girl Project with an room inspired by very pricey, fancy art. Just kidding - I found these beautiful bubble paintings and was taken by their elegance and simplicity and when I finally found their source, I was ecstatic to find it was a DIY! Nothing is mor “IT Girl Project” appropriate than that! Affordable and easy art you can make yourself … and even without an artsy bone in your body. Check out directions for how you can create a beautiful painting like this at home here.
I loved this simple pink bubble silhouette of an oversized hot pink bubble and created a girly bachelorette pad room around it. Bits of inspiration from girly French details are paired with a pop of modern to make for a room that’s perfectly pink.

Secret of domestic bliss #60...a mirrored coffee table

The fashion world is always inspiring my decor choices and when I saw this little peek at Rachel Zoe's fashion offices, I instantly realized just how stylish mirrored coffee tables are. They are the epitome of chic and I can't get enough of how amazing they make any living room look...

The way Stephen Sills uses yellow in this room just bewilders my heart.
This coffee table in Ashley Starks apartment always took my breath away, I loved it in Domino.
I was always inspired by this particular table and took the inspiration to my apartment
So, this is my mirrored coffee table, inspired by the one above, and it perks up my little apartment perfectly...

2. Colored doors!! You know I love them. Image via

the beautiful bathroom suite...

Finally the rush of Monday things to do has set in and I am back in the swing of things. Right now I am working on finalizing the details of my clients bathroom. The size of the bathroom is pretty small, so I have a limited space to work with. What kills me are the ranges of beautiful tiles and fixtures out there are, they are just incredible. I want to incorporate everything!!! My favorite thing that I have seen lately are wonderfully tiled bathroom floors...

Tile like this is absolutely genius. It takes something ordinary and makes it incredibly interesting and fresh. I love this look in bathrooms. The black and white stripes are so chic, I just can't stand it.
I currently happen to have yellow and black tile in my bathroom, so things are limited for me in terms of decorating. I have to work with a strict color palate but something I just recently discovered is that you can run to your local hardware store and paint your existing bathroom tiles to whatever color you want. So, there is opportunity for you to get very, very creative. Like this for example,
you can also go all out get colorful with your floor tile like this, I just love pretty bathroom suites...
As much as I love these fabulous floors I realize that my time needs to be focused on my clients space. And because her bathroom space is limited I have to think in terms of priorities. Top priority being space for storage and the way to keep that looking good is making sure its all very well organized. this bathroom is a perfect example of that and makes me want to take a steaming hot bath right now.
I also love the earthy-ness to this bathroom storage and that gorgeous tile works so perfectly to create an amazing zen space. All natural elements are blend so well together in the bath, don't you think?
Now, if I can really dream as to what her bathroom would look like, it would probably look a little something like this. With a lot of mirrored surface and plenty of bling...

Fireplaces + pastels...

With all of the festivities in my life over and done with, I can now relax and really give 100% to my days and my work. I am attending a seminar this upcoming weekend where I will be taught how to make the most of your days as an entrepreneur. I am so looking forward to getting motivated and inspired for my business. In a perfect world, this photo is all the inspiration I would need.
I am so into the beautiful fireplace stylings and the pastel color complements...
I love this chandelier and how the pretty pastel paint just comes up to the molding...so interesting.
Antlers are such a great way to accessorize the nook + teeny pastel trinket boxes with gold finishes complement them perfectly...

Styleicious Sunday: MIXOLOGY

When it comes to fashion and decor there are many differences...
yet so many similarities. Today on this very special day, I focusing on one of my favorite things about decor and fashion, the MIXOLOGY.
{I so love people who do this in fashion and this year, I want to do more of the mix in fashion...like I do my interiors}
I love the art of a good mix. Combining different eras, different styles, extremely different color ways. I think it is a true talent to be able to pull it off.

Can you notice the presence of red laquer in super well mixed decor? I love it in fashion too... Definitely a key piece.

FUN!

10 things that rocked my world this week...jan 7 {pre birthday edition}

1. They say that what you do on NYE is representative of your year...so this year at midnight I found myself in a vintage sequin dress (so glam) and uggs (so comfy). So this year I am looking forward to a balanced year of glamour and cozy comfort. Here is to 2012!

 2. For the new year + a little bit of birthday love, one of my best blogging friends Vanessa, came to visit. (we both are from LA she moved to Miami and I came to NYC). We both tried out SHELLAC manicures. I am seriously now obsessed with it...no chipping, it rocks!
3. Rose bubbly was pre-new year cocktail of choice and it was oh so yummy...I told you all I wanted more rosy pink in my life this year...so that was another NYE night must have.
4. In an effort to dress more eccentric + out of my comfort zone this year, I have been reading Parisian Chic by Ines de la Fressange. I love it. It has totally reinvented my idea of style!
5. My 2012 breakfast of choice. berries + bananas. Makes for the most deelish smoothie too!
6. My newest piece of art courtesy of VandM. vintage photograph of the showgirls at Copacabana. I'm obsessed with it.
7. My little crystal skull, aka Skully. He is such a hit in my apartment. Everyone who comes over wants to steal him and he absolutely makes me smile.
8. Aren't friends the best blessing in life? I think so. I got THE sweetest gift in the mail from one of my bff's. This girl has so much style, even the wrapping, tissue paper + card had swagger. Not to mention the gorgeous gift inside! LOVE!
9. This pink umbrella is my favorite thing in my house right now. The bright color just picks me up every morning oh and all the stripes in my house do too.

10. So, my love for DECORISTA PINK just never ends and now I want this cute pink watch. I can't decide if I would actually wear it everyday, but I keep seeing fashionistas on the NYC scene wearing hot pink watches and it is so rocking my world.
Should I go for it?

3 dining rooms looks perfect for winter

As you can tell from this post or this one, dining rooms are so on my radar right now. I think its the birthday girl coming out in me. I love birthday dinner parties, they are the best. Here are a few looks that I absolutely am loving for this winter time...

When it comes to winter time, woods are everything, so this rustic look is oh so good to me. Imagine lots of dimmed lighting, would be so soothing.
I adore these gorgeous chrome chairs outfitted in winter white leather...so snazzy.
This dining room just gets my girlie heart. I love the puddled tablecloth, glam chandelier and striped dining chairs. The soft palate is so soothing in the winter time too...j'adore!

How to home accessorize...mix brights and black

Inspired by a few of my favorite fashion bloggers, I can't help but adore the look of brights mixed with blacks. I love sticking with simple and neutral for the big pieces, but for home accessories, that is where I like to mix it up...

office space of the day...a heavenly space

This is the home office of Lee Kleinhelter, shop owner of Pieces which is one of my favorite decor stores. Thanks to julie, I found pictures of her amazing, amazing space.

COUTURE + COLOUR...white on white

Hello readers!! Morgan here with your midweek Couture + Colour. I hope you had an amazing Christmas and New Year! This week I wanted to focus on a color I love...white! It's a color that is always so fresh and clean, sometimes it's jaw dropping when it's white on white like the images below.
1. Lindsey Wixson wearing the fabulous Jason Wu from his Spring 2012 collection, this image is completely adorable and I couldn't love it anymore than I do. Image from this fashionista
2. An obsession of mine is feather lighting from ABYU Lighting, I dream about owning my own custom creation from Mr. Steven Wine!!
3. This shot is stunning! I love all the white materials mixed together...furniture, light, accessories, floor and wall. Image from buntfahrer.tumblr.com
4.  I dream of filling my cabinets with  milk glass like the image above. Nothing makes a cake look more fabulous than clean white milk glass.
5. A white modern bedroom with a rustic ceiling...I would love a bedroom with that much wall storage, especially living in New York.
6. This sheep wallpaper is perfection!! I am wanting, loving and needing it. It's located in at BBH Global in NYC, best elevator lobby wallpaper I've ever seen!
Hope you love white as much as I do, until next...xoxo!!

tablescape tuesday...elements of entertaining with glam gold

Each year as the new year begins I get so excited to start afresh with everything, including a new age. My birthday is 8 days after the new year, so it always feels like turning one year older is a whole new slate, a whole new chapter of life. This year I want to be super low key, but this tabletop seriously has me reconsidering and having a glam birthday dinner like sasha's pretty inspiration...
ELEMENTS OF GLAM GOLD TABLETOP STYLE:
Wouldn't this just be the most gorgeous birthday dinner setting???

Secret of domestic bliss #59...incorporate exotics

Oh yes...this bathroom is gorgeous. I just love it. As I said earlier, this year...
I vow to travel to exotic locations. You guys have to hold me accountable, okay? Something that I am noticing in my most favorite of spaces are the pieces that are inspired by exotic style. There is something about exotic style that says, culture and spice, which could mean everything in your home decor.
Or maybe your friend has one of those places that just screams "i walked into a store and bought the whole showroom"...they are exactly the person who needs a little something different. Maybe this post is for them...
This with interesting patten and unusual shapes and colors are great to add like this pretty india inspired room full of them...or even a bright wall color could do the trick.
also, irregular seating arrangements are reminiscent of those countries that perfect the art of lounging...and delight in sunlight.
and of course an oversized, bohemian shaped headboard can scream exotic influence!
