weekend decorating idea... how to decorate with succulents

Lately I have been seeing adorable little arrangements of beautiful succulents all over the city.
All the cutest boutiques have the most lovely little displays full of green!
I am determined to decorate for the holidays with some wild panache,
and succulents are the way to go, especially for the tabletop decor.
I'm crazy about these beautiful botanicals.

I think what is key when decorating with succulents is placing them in unique and unexpected items.
Gorgeous vintage trophies, milk glass jars, apothecary jars, candle holders, etc.
So chic!

secret of domestic bliss #38... zebra ottomans

Absolutely every space in the world should have a little bit of something exotic.
I will always suggest a beautiful zebra ottoman, it just makes a room sing.
They may seem to be a little repeated at this point, but a wild animal print is still so chic.
In my opinion, if your home needs a pick me up... grab one of these bad boys and rock it!
Easy peasy.

fashionista friday ALL ABOUT SUZANNE ON STYLE

Have you ever met someone and just instantly felt like kindred spirits?
I love when that happens, especially now that have an adopted big sister.

Totally inspired by this fashionista + decorista + domestic diva...Suzanne Marquez.
Such a triple threat!
I'm totally girl crushing on her chic laid back LA style.
You must check out her blog for pics of her fab home
(perfectly decorated by Woodson & Rummerfield, of course!)
and her amazing cooking tutorial videos.
This one is perfect for Thanksgiving holiday entertaining.

The Decorista Style File...what I want now!

Fresh off a fabulous Thursday evening of soirees (including a Veranda event), I am completely inspired by the cover of the new issue of Veranda. The gorgeous cover shot is a Miles Redd design and is over the top amazing. I love the way he used the beautiful emerald hue.
I am always inspired by decor when I shop for fashion and this season emerald green is on my radar.
I am so craving these delicious goodies...

6. OPI Here Today Argone Tomorrow

Dear Decorista, I want a peacock blue living room!

I love your blog. My husband and I have just bought our first house. I would like to paint the living room peacock blue and he thinks it should be white (he thinks every room should be white). Can you please post some more photos of this- I think once he sees how good it looks he won’t be afraid of the color.
 Thanks, Cathie!

The minute I read this email, I knew I had to help the girl out.
Blue walls in the home? Absolutely!!!

(I love all the blue in this room above...the blue zebra fabric is so fun!)
Everybody needs a good blue room.
I am a sucker for blue on the walls. There are so many different shades.
If he can't commit to the entire wall, why not try something like this?
Decorators LOVE blue. For more on blue go here

Amazing angles (interiors photography)

I love interiors photography. I honestly wish I was better at taking photos, or just had a better camera.
Being on so many sets lately has taught me so much about angels and how to shoot.
So much more goes into a photoshoot than meets the eye.
I'm just crazy about these curious angles in the photos above.
Very effortless looking, but probably really well thought out.

a beautiful bedroom...

dark walls and bright white fluffy bedding is pure domestic bliss.
I'm sort of obsessing over this bedroom today. I find the striped chair so adorable and I spot my favorite Dorothy Draper book "in the pink"...need i say more?

In other blissful news...
I am on set today for something very fabulous I will be telling you about very soon.
So exciting.
and, for all of you who leave me comments (you know who you are) please know that they really do make my day, I love hearing your encouraging words. They always seem to be the best pick-me-up!
I honestly do not know what I would do without the blogging community.
I love love love love love it.
THANK YOU!

Tablescape tuesday {entryway table decorating}

As we all know, the entryway of a home is one the most important spaces to decorate.
It is like the opening chapter of a book, its got to be good.
Tablescaping the entryway can sometimes present a challenge but I am just loving how these foyers, have been styled with displays of beautiful treasures.
Artwork and flowers are extremely helpful and oversize decor can make such an impact.
Oh, and really great rugs and beautiful trays, work wonders!

SIX TO BLISS: the linds B edition

 Who: Linds B
Where: Boston, Mass
What: an adorable lifestyle blogger who blogs at everything LEB

This girl is so adorable + cute, you will hardly be able to resist her blogging and her six secrets of domestic bliss...

#1 Loved ones artwork- I was blessed to be born into a family with a very talented Grandma. She was an artist and always creating beautiful works of art inspired by her world travels. There are hundreds of them spread throughout the family and I am the proud owner of the ones you see here.

#2 Throw pillows and blankets- there is nothing better then curling up on my sofa with some pretty throw pillows and a blanket after a long day of work or on the weekend. It might just be my favorite place to relax in the world.

#3- Fresh Flowers- I know a lot of people have said flowers, but its so true. There is no better secret to domestic bliss then having fresh flowers grace your home.

#4 Organization- I have a thing with organization. Having labeled boxes and places for everything is my complete domestic bliss.

#5 Things old and new- To me an interesting home is one that has a collected, worn and personal look. Nothing was purchased at the same store or in the same time period but is a mishmash of treasured and loved items.

When my Grandparents moved back to the States from Jamaica (right before the Cuban Missile Crisis) this Sterling Silver ashtray made the trip. It’s engraved with Liguiana Club, which was a club they used to frequent. While the club no longer exists- the memory of it does in my living room. It makes a good spot for this new candle.

Next to the ashtray is a old black and white photo in a new Lucite frame. The photo is of my Great Grandparents in 1939 relaxing in the Hamptons that summer. This mix of old and new is domestic bliss to me.

#6 Color- I am a color person and complete domestic bliss to me means lots of color. I painted my walls this peacock blue color and I love it more now then the day it went up.

secret of domestic bliss #37...simple touches of fur

Oh how these chilly LA days are so blissful. The crisp air outside combined with the beautiful sunshine just makes me so happy. As the cold air outside permeates indoors through my apartments' open windows, I am longing for warmer textures.
I love to add to the coziness in my home by simply placing small touches of faux fur all around me.
Whether it be through a fur throw or a fabulous fur rug, I love how fur instantly transforms your space to comfortable glamour so effortlessly.
