House & Home

Amanda Nisbet
It's the middle of the week and inspiration is abounding all over the internet.
I can't keep it all together, but I will tell you this...
Orange and Navy are a killer color combination and these rooms cannot begin to describe the dynamics of this combo. Effortless and extraordinary!
I urge you to not be afraid of using either color in your home as they are the ultimate
"statement making" colors!

Home Tour + Bliss in the kitch'...sara tuttle style

The lovely way Sara Tuttle decorates her interiors just blows me away. I have such a girl crush on this woman. She was named as one of Domino Magazine's "10 decorators to watch"...which made me instantly know I would love her.
In her ultra stylish apartment, this richly dark kitchen is perfection mixed with the white cabinetry. Can you get over the fabulous floors? So traditional, so stylish, so chic for such a small space.

I love the rest of her gorgeous Washington DC digs. Packed to the max with some serious style.
I can appreciate her mix of furniture styles and artwork. The highs and the lows are all over this space. Completely achievable on a budget...It definitely had me at hello.
In this bedroom, so many little details create the perfect relaxing boudoir...
not to mention a killer view!

decorating ideas...wonderful walls of white frames

Oh how I love a good "white done right" room.
These are two very cool rooms with gatherings of all white frames.
Super chic and super easy to recreate...

1. grab a can or two of high-gloss spray paint
2. get a few random frames with detail at your local thrift shop (always buy in odd numbers)
3. spray away!

Easy as 1, 2, 3 and very inexpensive. I just love this kinda stuff.

bliss in the kitch' ...breathtaking breakfast nooks

How adorable are these beautiful breakfast nooks? Sunday mornings are the perfect opportunity to luxuriate and actually get use out of lounging in the breakfast nook. The tantalizing scent of freshly made coffee and beautiful bright sunlight seals the deal on my breakfast nook bliss.

Los Angeles Events: Gilt Groupe book party

You all know I just love a good book.
Last night, Gilt Home, CFDA, and Assouline celebrated, Rima Suqi’’s book,

The Art of Living...how to properly set a table

The weekend is here and the dinner party invitations are steadily coming in.
As always, I offered my help to each of the hosts and surprisingly I got asked a question...
Do you know how to properly set a table for a dinner party?

My grandmother taught me at the age of 5 and she always insisted a formal table setting at every single family occasion.
{I figured you guys might like to know the answer too...so here are my cheat sheets.}

This setting is perfect for intimate dinners with close friends...

Now if you are having a large party or just want to impress your guests this formal setting is for you!

A well styled table is a sure fire way to achieve harmony at a dinner party and ultimately create the perfect mood for you very own domestic bliss!

How to decorate for winter with white

As we are fast approaching the winter, rustic & industrial looking decor is much more prevalent.
I love it when these hard looks are combined with a romantic elegance...effortlessly comfortable.
Like the feeling that you want to cuddle in bed with a fire, lounge in your living room reading a magazine with tea or take a long, luxurious bubble bath whilst gazing at beautiful decor. These are the moments when I truly appreciate being at home.

Home Tour: glamorous vintage style is the perfect winter decor

In the pursuit of fabulous finds for winter decor, my decorative eye has turned so romantic.
I have fallen more in love with decor from all over the globe and the
"scandinavian maximalism
look has captured my adoration rather quickly.

This incredible apartment shown above is the home of a supremely stylish gal, Camilla, who owns a gorgeous glam & vintage decor shop called Milla Boutique. Her home has the perfected the look of ethereal and glamorous winter-time romance
Couldn't you imagine relaxing here on a cold winter night?
A candle lit bubble bath maybe or a cozy evening in bed watching old black and white movies...
I will be forever daydreaming of that.
(oh and decorating with a photo of kate moss is highly suggested)

However, her home wasn't always so dark and lovely.
Take a peek at the delicious look of her home just a few months back. This bright, vintage and glam space just took my breath away. Whether this home has its bright & lovely spring look or its dark & dreamy winter look, I would be ready to call her "home" instantly!

a shout out to dagny for the lovely introduction to this amazing home...

Home Tour: a stylish + oh so fun bloggers' abode

I love decorating. I love the way people decorate. I love helping those who are in need of decorating advice. This is the reason I blog. Another reason I blog...the home tours.
I love seeing them + I loooooove sharing them with you all too.

This is the stylish home of Bijou & Boheme blog. I love the incredible sense of style. It has a sense of laid back glamour that is very easy to recreate yourself. That is key for decorating.
It's got little notes of parisian chic, some modern glamour and a bit of boho.
Enjoy.
Did I mention how much I adore all of the artwork in the home? Well, I do.
Take a peek at this stunning piece in the entryway...very clever + oh so cheeky!

rooms that rock my world! {rock star glamour}

Completely crushing on this fabulous bedroom nestled in the hills of Los Angeles.
Ever so feminine elements mingle with a bit of rock star glammah and the outcome is modern + perfectly chic.
Fireplace, a round setee, YSL pumps, crystal lamps and stunning, colorful photography are the epitome of LA style. I love it.
Such a lovely job done my Molly Luetkemeyer...I have always been so fond of her work.

tablescape tuesday {bloggers show fall style at its best}

rustic fall by Eddie Ross
birthday glamour by Cassandra Lavalle aka Coco&Kelley

Both of these tablescapes are incredibly stylish, yet so completely different. I can appreciate good style when I see it. Who doesn't love a lovely fall table with rustic accessories? How about gold, polka dots  and pink bow napkins that compliment each other so well? Absolutely perfect!
I love a beautiful themed table setting with some lovely candlelight,
it's inexplicably the perfect setting for fall and winter evening affairs.
