Working girl style...

I love running my own businesses. There is literally nothing that gives me more excitement than knowing I get to create things beyond any limitations...and I am all about making that happen in style. I have some big things coming up soon, my site will be all new and shiny and a huge workshop will be coming to Dallas, Texas in the fall. So, here are my latest loves while making things happen.

1. Not only does this Arteriors vintage bar cart look glam for entertaining, it also would be perfect to stack a fax machine, files, magazines, etc.
2. For the home office I usually throw on some ripped up jeans, a chic tee and a bold gold link necklace to polish it off and still be easy.
3. Essie marshmellow white are so my thing right now and go with everything.
4. If I have to leave for a meeting, I could throw on this perfect black leather pencil skirt and be ready to go.
5. With all the traveling I have been doing for work lately, I don't leave home without my white  mophie iphone 5 battery case.
6. I need this Clare Vivier leopard clutch...desperatley.
7. How adorable is this little sea green task lamp?
8. After a long week, I just love burning this Mimosa candle on Saturday mornings in the city
9. What is more lovely than diamond and pearl earrings? Gotta have em.

the beauty room...

Oh, the magic of a feminine room thats all about beauty...
It's probably one of my favorite rooms in a home. There is nothing like getting ready in a beautifully decorated space that just makes you feel good. This week I am starting my week with a cleaning out of everything. With all the traveling, its time I get things completely organized.
Lately, I've been noticing how gorgeous beauty products can be. Blacks and golds encase magical colored products and its almost like they are part of the decor. All you need to accessorize your beauty products are delicious flowers like roses.
I also am a huge believer in organization in whatever room you have. A well organized space is the magic behind a life that works! I have been seeing this more and more in the women that I've been coaching. Half of the people who are suffering in work have really disorganized offices....hello!

10 things that rocked my world this week...LVMKT summer 2013 edition

 1. I never would have imagined that spending a week in Las Vegas could be so productive, fun and relaxing...
Well, this week it really was. We had a panel on blogs + businesses that was a great success! Here is a shot of us with our girl, tv decorista Emily Henderson. (we were all wearing black, white + coral...and no we didn't mean to coordinate, it just happened.)
2. It was probably the most fun seminar I have ever given, We gave so much information on how to's for blogging + business. Thank you to all of my coaching clients, you guys have given me so much to give to others during this seminar and I know everyone was really grateful.
3. Although I stayed at the Cosmopolitan, we skipped out to the Paris hotel every morning for breakfast. We found the perfect parisian style breakfast bistro.
 4. When I wasn't working or taking meetings, I spent my time here, in chic little cabanas by the pool.
5. Market was brimming with the most gorgeous pieces. This chair from Worlds Away was my absolute favorite item.
 6. This white little vignette quite literally stole my breath. The black and gold accents were perfection.
7. Chandeliers at the paris hotel were intoxicating...
8. ...and the ones at the Cosmopolitan were also quite breathtaking. They were perfectly pink of course.
 9. Wouldn't this gorgeous facade work make you want to gamble too?
 10. Probably my favorite thing I saw this week. This plush purple tufted banquette, complete with glam chandelier and vintage telephone. I wanted to take it home with me.

Highlights of Las Vegas market...

I'm finally back from the whirlwind that is interior design market and I saw the most beautiful + inspiring displays which really inspired the creative in me...
White + gold seems to be the most lovely color combination of the summer...at least Global Views seems to think so.
...this large chandelier and antiqued grey number was calling my name, I love Tara Shaw and her vintage vibe. I also love a wall mix of black curiosities with natural elements...
Black, white and a hint of gold always wins...especially when on a focal wall...
I wanted to take this gold snake trinket box from Waylande Gregory home with me.
...malachite walls, oh my. I loved the Four Hands showroom, the displays were amazing, as per usual.

Oh, and this rug I spotted at Surya. Yes. It was gorgeous!

traveling for work...Cosmopolitan Las Vegas

I couldn't be more fortunate that when I travel for work I get to experience the most wonderful accommodations...(the plush purple banquettes are intoxicating)
During my travels this week to Las Vegas Design Market, I was put up at the Cosmopolitan Hotel. Nothing makes me happier than a gorgeously decorated hotel. Upon walking into the Cosmopolitan, I was absolutely blown away.
The lobby was outfitted with the most gorgeous column screens with displays of kaleidoscope botanicals and fashion shoots, which made for such a dramatic entrance.
I spent most of my time having lovely conversations/meetings at the chandelier bar, which I loved, because it was so glamorous and just dripping with diamonds and sparkle.
...my friends and I enjoyed cosmopolitans, at the cosmopolitan hotel, very fitting.

My room...was incredible, I only wish I could have stayed longer. It was bigger than my apartment in Manhattan. It came complete with kitchen, separate bath and shower, a living room, and the most lovely terrace with a killer view.
My favorite parts were the incredible bed which I could have slept in for hours on end and the closet with one of my favorite fornasetti wallpapers.

Wallcolor Wednesday: Cobalt blue

While I am here in Las Vegas, at market, I am fully inspired by all of the color...
Mixing bold hues of blue seems to be totally on trend this year and I am loving every minute of it. The perfect blue room for me would be done in something a little like this bold cobalt glossy blue. How incredible does it look with a gorgeous coral sofa?

Pinks, golds and a plush white rug really set the ground work for all of this eclectic beauty. I adore the chic sconces, too. I also love the pop of that sea foam green in fabrics. This is one of the most chic home offices I have ever seen.

10 things that rocked my world this week...July 27

1. This incredibly little chic photo just inspires me. Dark walls, gold sconces, modern art and gorgeous french chairs make the perfect glam little business woman office space.

2. This week was all about travel for me. I jetted off to the OC for a little excursion with Traditional Home. I have to share my favorite beauty product for travel. This C. Booth dry oil mist is out of this world amazing. It leaves your skin feeling so hydrated, soft and smelling ridiculously good.
3. We stayed at the Island Hotel in Newport and the hotel was incredible. I slept like an angel in this bed. I was trying to see who made the bedding...it was THAT good.
4. We spent some of the day at Whole Foods learning about food, how to care for it, prepare it and store it properly.
5. We also learned how to cook some amazing dishes in some amazingly gorgeous kitchens.
6. Sweet pineapple. Hands down my favorite fruit.
7. Dinner at Las Brisas. One of my favorite spots to eat at sunset in Southern California.
8. Did a little shopping at a few choice thrift stores and I found such a beautiful collection of sea green glass dishes. They are oh so beautiful, I didn't want to leave the little shop.
9. One of my favorite parts of the hotel was this gorgeous entryway tablescape. Full of the most magical succulents I have ever laid eyes on. Such chic styling.
10. Oh, and the sexiest part of the hotel...the rose gold elevators. So gold, gaudy and glamorous, I couldn't help but snap a photo. They were everything.
Bonus...my favorite part of California...the palm trees.

Beautiful moments & happy weekend...

I recently was just clearing out some photos from my Iphone and wanted to share some random beautiful moments that were captured in my life...

 A daytime wedding tabletop...
 vintage home decor magazines...
 lovely bookcase styling...
an afternoon full of cherry blossoms...
 a perfectly pale pink door...
the view from dinner at sunset along the west coast.

Cosmopolitan Hotel {Las Vegas Market}

It's almost that time again, time to jet off to Las Vegas Interior Design Market...
This year is going to be better than ever. One because I will be speaking on a panel about Blogging and Entrepreneurship (two of my most favorite things). I'll be talking about how I started my journey and other things I talk about with my coaching clients. I'll be alongside a few other extremely successful gals, Crystal Palececk of Rue Magazine, Cassandra LaValle of Coco + Kelley blog, and Dallas Shaw.
The other wonderful part is that we are staying at The Cosmopolitan Hotel, probably my favorite hotel in Las Vegas. I love the suites, they are decorated so chic. I am so looking forward to seeing whats new at LVMKT, hopefully these beds are as comfortable as they look. Can't wait!

Neutral Boho Chic {Ursula Mascaro home}

Neutral tones and a mix of bohemian and modern pieces all come together to make...
the perfect Spanish home fit for a shoe designer. Ursula Mascaro has probably one of the chicest little bungalows I have seen in a long time. I love how laid back yet stylish it is. Exactly what you would expect from a European fashionista. I'm really feeling this place right about now.

This mix of woods and earthy elements makes for such a chic and fresh look.

I mean, who wouldn't want to relax around here all day? I know I would. It is completely reminding me of the Cali vibe I am currently in.

Black kitchen bliss

After my crazy fun and terribly hot weekend, I am jetting off to the OC to do a little something something with one of my favorite shelter publications...
and its all about kitchens. So, I decided to brush up on my favorite kitchens and make sure I'm well equipped. While daydreaming, I decided that in my dream home, I am having a black kitchen like this one. I love the dark wood mix too.
Black looks so chic in any style of kitchen. This gorgeous modern kitchen looks so good and so does this sweet traditional look as well. The chandelier is the perfect kiss in this blissful little kitchen.
Aren't these just so fab? I want!!!

10 things that rocked my world this week...July 21

1. I enjoyed a weekend full of concerts...
which happen to be one of my favorite things to do in the summertime. The Jay Z/Justin Timberlake show was absolutely incredible and probably one of my favorites concerts EVER...
2. I love a good show. This weekend was a super fun line up, for the hip hop lover in me.
 3. I felt like giving my desk a little makeover, so I put new little brass lion knobs on my drawers. Love what they do for my little office nook.
4. My ex coworker and I are always finding that our designs our so similar. He is like my LA counterpart, apples don't fall far from a mentors tree. Ryan Saghian. Love him and I love this coffee table he used in a clients home. Fab.

5. My shot of the beautiful home in Shelter Island. Its so hard to capture the magic in one shot but its so so so good.
 6. If you haven't heard yet, I'll be speaking at Las Vegas Market with some of my design/blog besties (Cass of Coco+Kelley & Crystal from Rue Magazine). This shot was captured on one of our first nights out together, Haloween 2010. Hope you guys are able to come out and see us speak about our blogs and turning them in to businesses! It's gonna be a really good time.
 7. Restoration Hardware is always a good place to look around and see whats new in the world of retail decor. I just loved this fireplace look with faux candles at staggering heights.
 8. This view always was really beautiful. Love the deep gray swaggering curtains as you walk in. Noted. I Need these in every entryway.
 9. Wrote about a million thank you notes this week. Its so fun to do with pretty stationary. Oh, and with coffee too of course.
10. Spotted this emerald bathroom on my friend Shopten25 instagram. Holy wow! Emerald. Hexagons. A bust. White pieces. It just doesn't get better.

Inspired by Outdoor Entertaining

Probably the best part of summer are the outdoor dinner parties...

Don't you guys agree? I know I have been at several over this summer and honestly they are where I have made some of my best summer memories. So, I love being inspired by new outdoor looks and alfresco decoration! Here are a few looks I absolutely love...

I am so in love with this little situation. I love the black, white and neutral palate and those gorgeous little mercury glass topiaries.
Enjoy the weekend!

Chic groups of Art

I have a client who, luckily, has an extremely large living room. The only problem is...
that above the sofa, we are having problems finding are that we love that fills the space. It's a pretty big wall. So, I'm pushing for a grouping of framed smaller art pieces that go together.
It makes such an impact and the frames add an architectural detail which is just a bonus to the artwork.
I also like them placed in order, not arranged in random order. There is something grand about an organized arrangement that makes the room more dramatic and bold.

After spending my long and lovely weekend in Shelter Island, I can't help but feel like I want to bring the style back to the city with me. All summer I have been loving moments of white, nudes and golds in my home and in my life. Here are a few key things I am looking to add to my world...
1.Striped Sailor Tank
2.DVF crochet dress
3. White Tilly Chandelier
4.Tory Burch Wedges
5.gold zebra tray
6. Harry Allen Piggy bank
7.White perforated MK bag

Knoll Furniture meets Shelter Island

Over the weekend I was in Shelter Island and I think I fell in love with this little town...
I had the pleasure of heading over to a family friends home for a wonderful dinner party. (The CEO of Knoll furniture and his wife) After walking in this place, I almost had a heart attack, I was so blown away by the stylish decor. When they mentioned to me that their home was featured in AD, I thought "of course!"
So I finally found the gorgeous shots of the space and let me tell you. It really is this good, if not better. There was so much more than just what these photos show. It literally was so good and every little detail was done with such perfect intentions. I just loved it. Each piece of furniture is so good. I just wanted to take everything home with me.

I think the best part of the entire home was the backyard. The infinity-ish pool was incredible and the outdoor 10 person table make the perfect place for outdoor entertaining! The perfect place to spend your summertime.

10 things that rocked my world this week...July 15

1. I literally had a whirlwind of a week I have way too many good things to talk about...
This mirror was one of them. I had the pleasure of spending the evening for a dinner party at one of the most amazingly decorated homes I have been to since moving to New York City. Over the weekend I was in Shelter Island and in this quaint little powder room, was this gorgeous flowered mirror. I was over the moon.
 2. I also love layered rugs. It's something that I am very into lately. I'm always looking for ways to show clients different looks and  I loved this jute/zebra combo.
 3. I got very inspired shopping at victorias secret. The dressing room was so dark and glamorous, I would just love to create this bold look in my own home.
4. Seven Secrets of Successful Women. I read this book and was really impressed. I'm always trying to keep my business skills a fresh and new, especially because my coaching clients are always looking for new ideas. This book really gave me a whole new wind of motivation.
5. Luckily, this is where I spent most of my weekend. In the adorable guest house, you have to just love being a guest. When you work hard, you get to play hard too. When you live and work in this city, you kind of need it.
6. In the main house, this dining room chandelier really stole my heart. I kept looking at her and just admiring her milky white loveliness.
7. I also loved this modern, amazing and milky white/lucite sideboard. It is the perfect piece to put in the dining area of a more modern space. Ample space for displaying food and drink. Love it.
8. Yellow. My current color crush and loving these pretty little glass things.
 9. Even though I have been loving yellow lately, the colors of the waters have been calling my name. This gorgeous emerald green water was so blissful for my weekend.
 10. The best part of the day. A beautiful sunset, and this one was a beautiful one right in the city.

all photos by me.

1 black and white rug... 4 ways

This black and white rug is an oldie but such a goodie...
Lately, I have been thinking about putting this rug in my living room. I love high contrast black and white, but I want something with movement and my chevron rug bores me. I got rid of that and opened my living room up for something new. I am even considering a little color on the wall. Life is just so much more fun when you constantly change things up. It keeps your life fresh and exciting, no?
It looks good in almost every style, no?
