needing. wanting. loving. (glass coffee tables}

I am currently on the hunt for the perfect glass coffee table for my digs...
It's honestly so overwhelming with so many different choices, especially when I am dying to find the perfect one. Since my apartment is deprived of space, glass is the perfect finish because it doesn't feel as heavy. However, I am desperately in love with black and brass finishes like these two living rooms have.
I love the looks of these tables, so I am inspired by them but wanting them with glass.
Here are the ones I am obsessed with right now...
1.pretty brass and glass porterandpunk coffee table
2.hexagonal Horchow coffee table
3.This double level Worlds Away coffee table
4.a pair of black and glass coffee tables from Hayneedle

tablescape Tuesday: centerpiece creativity

For me, the key to success with a dinner party is....
CREATIVE CENTERPIECES!
I just love to be inspired by unique and different looks for the decor on the table. Flowers are always beautiful of course, but adding something unique to the center of a tabletop can be a great conversation starter!
Candles always provide seriously romantic lighting and a beautiful glow on a budget!
Discoballs aren't just for holidays...they can be the perfect accessory for a girls night dinner party.

CRAVE CHAT NYC: secrets of success revealed

I had the pleasure of speaking at the Crave NYC Chat last week...
and I must tell you, it was beyond a great time. Not only did I love sharing advice from my e-book, I also loved discussing the ins and outs of being a female business owner with my co-panelists, Melanie and Heather, two very successful business women. Getting together with business women from around the city was so empowering, I highly recommend it.
With that being said...I wanted to share with you all a teaser page from my e-book that I have gotten a lot of feedback on and was a HUGE topic of discussion at the Crave event.
Search Engine Optimization. I cover it pretty thoroughly in my book, its such a powerful tool to harness.
If you feel the need to connect with other business women or need advice check out your local CRAVE!

Happy Monday Morning Decor Daydreaming

Every once and a while I get so inspired by ethereal decor...
You know, all white and super feminine, european touches that just give off that dreamy vibe. As most of you know, more often than not I love bold, glam and bangin'. However, on this beautiful October Monday (and crispness in the air), I am feeling on some dreamy-ness. I love the light blue dresser with black finishes and the retro camera so delicately placed on the pile of boxes.
I just adore the stacks of books and magazines (much like the ones in my apartment) They just make you feel like home sweet home, no?
This purple settee with piles of pillows...complete domestic bliss.

Style-icious Sunday: Decorista Pink

When I spoke at the CRAVE NYC chat earlier this week (I will do a re-cap for you all very soon) a lot of people asked me about my visual branding of the blog...
They asked me why I chose the style and look that I did and I was very quick to point out that the first thing I knew that I wanted when thinking of my blog brand was PINK. HOT PINK.
Why? Because I am a total girlie girl and for me girlie = pink. It's also bold, fierce and totally stands out in a crowd. The best way is to add a dash of hot pink to any mix and it instantly perks up the look.
Like this chair. the pop of pink excites me!
Studies show that the color pink inspires love and makes you just feel...happy!
This is how I would add pink to my office space...
and I just really want to live here....

10 things that rocked my world this week! October 1

1. Being that fall is here, there is something more magical in the air...which is why these long, beautiful white feathers have made the perfect addition to my fireplace mantle decor. So ethereal and feminine, I just adore them.

2. This week was foodie heaven. Went to a super cool event at The Standard Hotel with Chef Eric Ripert where he dished about food. Was pretty fun.
3. These green babies are the apple of my eye right now. I love the way these would look with my favorite black dress.
4. Kind of obsessed with reading my magazines in bed with  my new fab BRAC tray from Busso. Its lavender, so its the perfect mix of girlie and modern.
5. This leopard covered case piece I spotted in Milly boutique on the upper east side completely captured my heart. Inspired me for something I am working on.
6. I love pink roses + I loved displaying them in my new trophy shaped black glass urn. Etched on the front is a beautiful scene of romeo and juliet. LOVE BIRDS. i love it.
7. One of my favorite things about fall: adding leather to the bed. So soft and cozy.
8. Ryan Gosling has just stolen my heart with his acting chops lately. He is looking good and playing great roles. I'm into it.
9. Pumpkins are here. It makes me so happy. They are all over the streets with such fun colors and faces.
10. I have to admit something to you all, I am the girliest of girls, this is true but I do love me some football. Yay for fall!

The Art of Living: keep your dining room hip

If you guys love to entertain as much as I do, something I have just got to suggest to you is mixing up your dining room seating....
Sure, all the same chairs looks very fresh and pretty but there is something very chic about mixing in different seating. It keeps things unexpected and a little more interesting. I have a small obsession with chairs...all kinds, but I think its good to keep with similar styles like modern + modern, french louis + greek klismos, etc. It's just really something that will set your dining room apart from everyone else's and make you look a little bit more cool.

I kinda like the look of these together...pretty cute.

bliss in the kitch' {industrial/earthy chic}

Getting so excited for the fall season...
The decor looks are so cozy and magical. Warming up the space is so important and it all starts in the kitchen. This fall i'm in love with the natural and earthy style kitchen with exposed metals and woods. Perfect for roasted veggies for dinner, yummy apple pie, soothing teas, lots of candles going.
Absolute domestic bliss.

Vogue Living & Tony Duquette in Beverly Hills

So, if you don't already know this about me...

I must let you all know that I am obsessed with amazing decor. Ridiculously obsessed. When something catches my eye, I have heart palpitations and this majestic home did just that!
Tony Duquette, one of the greats, let Vogue Living inside his beverly hills home and it is out of control goodness! So decadent and over the top and each detail is just stunning!
Drool-worthy is an understatement, don't you think?

Tablescape Tuesday: the right lighting

There is nothing more that I love that a perfectly decorated tablescape...
However, one super important factor that can make or break your tabletop decor is the right lighting. You must have the lighting right, not only must it be pretty to look at, it must also be the right amount of light to enjoy a meal, have a good conversation, etc. In my humble opinion, chandeliers are the perfect way to jazz up your dining room...they are just so beautiful!
I am also in love with the look of the long light fixture atop a long dining table. Very chic.
While my heart belongs to pretty chandeliers, I can get down with these drum shades too!

10 things that rocked my world this week! September 23

1. So my favorite fabric store, Wolff, had this amazing tufted blue sofa that just took my breath away. The perfect seating for a showroom floor. Fabulous!

 2. This week my obsession has been cakestands, candleabras and disco balls on the tabletop.
 3. I love stumbling upon the cool graphic sidewalk art on the city streets. I love this one in particular. I started volunteering in the neighborhood because of this sign.
 4. Street fairs at night are probably my new favorite thing. Romantic and really fun all the same time.
 5. The NYDC had the What's New What's Next event this week and it was awesome! Super informative and packed with  my favorite industry people. I love the energy of the interior design community in NYC. So much fun!
 6. Went to the Yankees stadium twice this week. Watched Mariano Rivera break a record and A. Rod do his thing. I am now a total Yankees fan. I even got myself a cute little tee.
 7. If you ever visit NYC, you must visit the High Line. Such a beautiful walk and view. The history in this city is just intoxicating and I love taking it all in.
8. This week I haven't stopped stalking VandM.com, so my new favorite website for fresh vintage finds.
9. So, I am a firm believer that every home should have a bust in it. However, this amazing shockingly blue photo of David will suit my apartment just fine. I love how bold and graphic it is. Sexy.
10. Spotted this gorgeous gold mirror and almost died. The detail is oh so sophisticated and I wanted it baaaad. Too bad there is no room in my teeny little apartment and thank God for my blog, because posting a picture of it makes me almost feel like I own it.

needing. wanting. loving. {hexagonal & octagonal mirrors}

Ever since I have been in New York City, I have been more in love with mirrors than ever......
Mirrors are so essential when you live in a shoebox sized space and the phrase 'the more the merrier' completely applies. As I was on the hunt, like usual, for the most fabulous mirrors this week, my heart just fell for the mirrors at Flair NYC. They have the most exquisite hexagonal and octagonal mirrors and they just took my breath away. Now I am completely obsessed and wanting one or two...

Wise Words...

When I first read this quote, it touched me so much... not only because the words are so good but because we all (us creative types, bloggers, designers, etc.) know what it means to be 'hard on yourself'. We all know that our dreams are life long journeys and we all can relate to the fact that we have to fight so hard to keep our dreams alive. I know I have had so much to go through to even be here in NYC doing what I love to do. My passion is endless and it fuels me everyday but it's not without moments of struggle and a lot of sacrifice.
I hope this inspires you to continue your dreams and go for yours. You only have one life so why not take the opportunity to make yourself happy. Thats why I wrote my e-book, to help encourage those of you who need that extra push. I did, and it changed my life and your dreams should change yours too. So here is to following your dreams!
