The Decorista tip of the day...go light white and global

Since spring has arrived, finally. If you haven't already, I do encourage you all to switch up your bedding to bright, light and white cottons. There is something so luxurious about slipping into crisp white sheets. Now I know that a lot of you can't bare the thought of all white (color lovers like me!) and I completely understand. I have the solution! Grab a fabulous, and exotic patterned quilt and throw it on the end of your bed. It adds a little something fun, playful and gives you total style without weighing down your bed! Loving these gorgeous prints....

How to decorate like a graphic designer...

Absolutely into the look of this home, it's a super gorgeous feature from Real Living Magazine. It really inspires me to see the homes of incredibly artistic and creative people. Ashley Haley is no exception, in her home she uses black, whites, nudes, and a mix of fun prints solid colors are big furniture. I love her how everything in the home has such a cool and hip graphic twist. She has really done of great job of pairing high's and low's, something not every gal can do. I guess graphic designers can have mad style too!

Style-icious Sunday {Gaudy and Glamorous Gypset Style}

As the days get warmer and warmer here in the city, more colors are coming out. As many of you know by now I am absolutely in love with color! Color makes me think of travel, luxury and decadence. All that is on my mind right now is that bohemian, gorgeous and glamorous 'gypset style'. Colorful fabrics, flowing caftans, beautiful prints, shimmering metallics, and lots and lots of layers. Can't you just imagine vanilla and jasmin candles burning, hearing the waves crash outside your window and sipping tea atop layers of lush pillows. So dreamy!

Weekend decorating Idea: wall of fabric in the bedroom

Want to give your bedroom even more of a pick me up and that cozy-licious element?
Try adding a drapes behind the bed for an ultra romantic effect. I love the look of a canopied bed and most of you agreed. However, its not that easy to whip up a four poster number. Something you can try over the weekend though, is hanging some fabric panels behind your bed.
Instant domestic bliss! Happy Weekend decorating everyone!

I am actually drawn to walls of fabric no matter what room they are in...like this green room for example.
Eclectic, glamourous and so very lovely.

the lived in look...

There is something to be said about a home being over-decorated and too stuffy. I have seen it numerous times, like that feeling that you don't even want to sit on the sofa because it might ruin everything. I've been noticing that most of my favorite apartments in Manhattan are well decorated but because they are so quaint have that "lived in look" that makes for a ridiculously cozy and warm home. To ensure domestic bliss...don't be overly stuffy. Stacks of books and magazines, a few thrown in pillows, family photos, plush blankets on seating... these elements are key!

The ubiquitous NYC Black and white cookie...oh YES!
 I am mad for all things black and white today. Especially when it comes to interior decor. Feast your eyes upon these delicious rooms! Black and white... work-it-out!

Decorista Trend Spotting: paneled mirror loveliness

In NYC, I am noticing that basically any project I'm on, mirrors reign supreme. A wall of mirrors is the perfect compliment to a big and beautiful loft window. But sometimes, mirroring an entire wall with mirrors can be intimidating for home owners. When my girl Mackenzie posted this photo, I knew instantly that these paneled mirrors are the perfect way to create a look of mirrored walls without going overboard. Lately, I have seen them around more and more, they are an elegant twist to a regular mirrored wall, no? Stylish, glamorous, resourceful and incredibly beautiful. I love them.

I absolutely adore the latest issue of Matchbook Mag. Such a lively and fun issue. What I love most is the abundance of the many beautiful shades of blue throughout the issue. Makes me want to do everything blue. I am absolutely re-invigorated for a project I am working on right now. Thank goodness for the fun mag, I am so inspired!!!!!

secret of domestic bliss #47... decorating with flowers

I don't know if many of you will remember this but remember the days when Laura Ashley reigned queen. I can remember as a young girl my mother decked out my bedroom with head to toe floral motifs.    I quickly found myself loathing floral decor...until recently. Is it just me or is the flower making a comeback? Lately I have been seeing beautiful floral motifs everywhere and layered up. Maybe its just that Spring is on its way and flowers are in full bloom! Either way, I am loving the ways of incorporating florals into decor. (like this room with blooms)Whether it be through art, wallpaper, fabrics, linens, or even just a simple bouquet...I am so ready for spring to be in full bloom!

If you have ever checked out Tricia Guild's work, then you will see what I mean, this woman is all about decorating with flowers. Her stuff is spot on!

needing. wanting. loving. {ghost chair influx}

I am so happy to be back in NYC and already busy working again, so fun! I'm currently working on a fabulous project using the cute + coveted white louis ghost chairs. I am so in love with them, they are so adorable and the perfect addition to this room. How about the pretty monogrammed pillows to top them off with some flair? Fierce, no?
Why do I so love this fabulous chair???

Style-icious Sunday {Brooklyn Bohemia}

My posts have been rather sparse lately, mostly because I have been in LA. Its been such a good time to relax and recharge. So, thank you for your patience with me. I missed this last Sunday's "Style-icious Sunday". Today, as I am jetting back to New York (so excited to get back), I wanted to recreate my style-i-cious inspiration for the week for you. All about that Brooklyn Bohemia...a super cool, swanky, hipster look that is currently on my mind. It's fun and so very, very in style.
